Bioshock
« on: August 22, 2007, 11:05:17 pm »
Bought it today. The game is totally amazing. It sucks you in and being a single player game, manages to hold your attention for a long, long time.

I'll keep you updated. ;)

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Hell, I can incinerate random objects and they'll burn. It looks amazing. The interaction with the environment is damn near top-notch.

The storyline is pretty engrossing, too. The action isn't bad either. It reminds me of a watered-down System Shock. And when a watered-down successor of another game is amazing, you know the original was even better. :)

System Shock is amazing. It was one of the first full length PC games I ever played though when I was like 5.

I just bought this game today and have been playing it for the last hour and a half or so.  Like Newby mentioned, the interaction with the environment is pretty impressive.  For me, the graphics are pretty damn good too.  I only got far enough to get the Telekinesis plasmid, though...

You might be right about that, Joe.

That ain't very far. Trust me, once you get some more weapons and more plasmids the fun factor multiples quickly. I've got electric zap 2, incinerate, telekinesis, and insect swarm on hand atm. And the combat/physical/mechanical tonics are badass too. :)

You guys got owned by Sony.

Two words: XBox 360. Rootkit that. Try reading the article btw, it's total FUD. They updated their article since the second comment on was like..

Quote
Alright, before slashdot trashes the article, let me clarify the use of “rootkit”. When I read about this on a forum, the general term was used to describe the SecuROM service.

I installed RootkitRevealer, and discovered it on my computer after installing the demo. I then found a fix to remove it on the 2K forums. In order for others to learn about this I used the word “rootkit”, because it is what would naturally be typed in to search engines.

The point of the article is to let people know that the SecuROM service was installed with the demo, and I have provided a way to remove it. This is a benefit for anyone who searches for “bioshock rootkit” or “SecuROM rootkit”. I am not using it just for “traffic and ad revenue”.

System Shock is amazing. It was one of the first full length PC games I ever played though when I was like 5.

System Shock 2 was the only one I played. :D

Beat the game. It was an incredible ride from start to finish, and I highly recommend purchasing it, or at the very least, renting it on the 360.
