DirectX or XNA?

Hmmm i have been so bored so i decided to mess about with DirectX and C# almost completed a pretty good game just to work on some of the vectors and stuff
But as i hear more and more about game programming i see more information about XNA. I just downloaded it and it does look a lot more resourceful than basic C# with DirectX. What i really would like to know is how different are the two, which executes faster and does XNA have more options than DirectX? I haven't really found any valuable information apart from that on MSDN, so please if you have any ideas
I'd love to know.

XNA.
MDX 1.1 is depreciated and MDX 2.0 is cancelled.
XNA is the future of Graphics in a managed environment. Plus it can do just about the same thing MDX could, except they remove the Fixed Function Pipeline in favor of Shaders for effects.

One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.
