Anyway, if you get a Glock, make sure you stick with the right sized mags. I know police use Glocks (at least in Philly), so I'm sure it's a good gun. Also, be careful where you walk around with a concealed gun, since most states don't allow it, and the few that do require licenses.
Yeah, most police forces use Glock. As far as the mag goes, I seem to recall reading something about limits, but I'm sure if I buy in a store I'll be good.
MOST states (48) offer some sort of concealed carry license and about half of the states allow open carry. New Mexico happens to be a kickass state and you can carry open pretty much anywhere (exceptions are the general courts, public schools, universities, places posting otherwise) without license. I seem to recall some big stink here about a restriction on firearms within like 50 yards of a school. People got upset and sued, I think? Maybe?
I'm not, I've actually only shot once. I'd like to do it more though, and it's a HUGE thing here (I mean, we allow students to have rifles on campus.) Do you want it for recreation or for protection?
I don't want a rifle just yet, when I start hunting I'll get one. If I get anything big it'll be a shotgun, maybe tactical
.
Currently it'll be for practice as I'm not a good enough shot to warrant carrying it around (if something DOES happen, however unlikely that is, I want to be able to hit what I'm shooting at)
