Was wondering if this ram ( http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18495&vpn=OCZ2G8002GK&manufacture=OCZ%20Technology ) is better than the ram I currently have? This is what I currently have: Mushkin EM2 PC2-5300 1GB 2X512MB

Somebody told me that the ram I currently have will not perform well on AM2 or something like that. I have been looking at a ram upgrade for quite some time now. I've been experiencing some lag and slowness in online games...

Faster bus speed. More capacity. Hrmm. I do believe so.
Make sure your motherboard supports those specs though.
