My guess is that it won't let me. Plus you need Novell to log into the school network. Is there anyway to force kill it? Maybe I'll try that.

Well, here's my little guide to killing NALDASK.EXE really easily using safe programs!

Step 1: 

Do you have the following application?

If not, the following might not work!  Feel free to try anyway.

Step 2:

We need to kill a process called Naldask, it's the one which scans for foriegn processes and kills them.  You'd probably think that all you'd need to do is open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del default), but if you try that, you'll get the following:

So, instead, you'll want to do this:

Open a new MS Word document.  Type anything, but do not save.

Step 3:

Note:  Read all of the following before you attempt this step.

Next you'll want to open the Start Menu, Click Log Off then Click Log Off on the next dialog

MS Word should then ask you if you'd like to save.  Instead of clicking Yes or No, click Cancel.  It will abandon the log off.

But, the My Applications Window should be gone, and along with it NALDASK.  Yay.

I still like my method the most! Just install damn small linux to a USB drive and boot from it. My school used Novell, but I was able to connect to their network in DSL with DHCP anyway and didn't have to fight with the software.

Lots of older computers don't boot to USB drives.  Plus, sometimes those sorts of things are disabled in the BIOS, which are presumably password protected.  I know it's easy to get around that by moving a jumper, but having a computer partially disassembled probably looks a little bit suspicious.
