Mass Effect

Visually stunning.  The conversation system is a lot more fluid, too, than KotOR.  It feels very natural, even if you sometimes get the same sense of light-side/dark-side/neutral choices that you had there.

The leveling system is really neat.

I've only played a couple hours, though.  I'd read a review that said the game has about 30 hours of gameplay.  If that's the case, I think I'll be disappointed, although I've also read that the different classes play very differently, and you get different conversation choices as a man and woman.  So there's potential replayability.

We'll see!  It's been really fun so far. :)
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Running with Code has a new home!

Our species really annoys me.

I really want it :\

and now you have it, and so do I.

The game looks amazing on HD, the conversation system is a lot more fluid (for sure), and the gameplay isn't turn-based like it is in KOTOR. Same feel, though, as KOTOR. Which is good; I miss the fun and excitement I felt playing that game. :/

I'm only a few hours in, but it doesn't take much to figure the game out or understand the world. If there are only 30 hours, I'm going to be sad. I got 40 out of KOTOR. And that was light side; the dark side I never completed. Wait, that's backwards. :)

The one complaint I have so far are the damn elevators. I also don't see the obvious differences between good/bad sides... in KOTOR, skill choices were one obvious one; so far, it's hard to tell. I also liked the Star Wars universe a whole bunch, and the universe this game is set in is taking a while to fully swallow me whole. I guess having background knowledge of KOTOR made it easier to enjoy. ;)

When I finish I'll rank on the star system. This game shows much promise, though.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

My friend who has this game said if you go evil you get considerably less options when talking to people, and that makes the game boring.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

Yes, but those options are more fun!  (A lot of them involve shooting or beating :D)

Also, I just finished a "romance subplot" which ended with a steamy sex scene.

Holy shit that was a good game!  I just beat a normal run through, next up is a hardcore or maybe insane run.  That was an awesome game, one of the best I've played in a long while.  I can't wait for the next two games.
