Uh, yuck!  I like the Giant Hornets the best.  Acid spitting bugs are always fun. :)

For every one of us, there are 1.5 billion bugs.

LOL. Sooner or later, we're going to get owned.

Yes, just as soon as the scariest 5 bugs invade the US.  Why the FUCK does a 3 inch acid spitting hornet exist?

While its not dangerous, I have to say the camel spider (not a spider though, they are solifugae) is pretty horrifying...they get pretty large, can bite hard, and run very fast (10mph).

The giant hornet isn't scary looking...it actually looks cool.   I read they are known to kill off entire bee hives in hours...you can watch them bite bees' heads off on youtube.  They are, however, dangerous...somebody who studies them said its feels like a nail when they sting.

Another really horrifying one is the Huntsman spider...they live in Florida...they can get pretty large.  They aren't deadly either.  Here's a picture

Haha, camel spiders are creepy!  My good friend was in Afghanistan for a while and spoke of them.

The video you mentioned was embedded in the article (you have to allow javascript to run on that site, obviously).  There was also ones for the Bot Fly and Bullet Ants.  The one on bullet ants was especially shocking.  It wasn't repulsive or anything, but just a real culture shock.

Here are two very dangerous spiders (if you consider spiders "bugs" too)

The brown recluse which live in the south east US, can cause necrotic wounds like these:

The brown recluse is the size of a quarter and looks harmless... Though, they are really not known to bite, they sometimes even deliver dry bites.

There is no treatment for brown recluse bites.

The Sydney Funnel Web spider is the most dangerous spider in the world...while other dangerous spiders could deliver dry bites, the sydney funnel web spider will always deliver a full envenomation.  Even worse, their venom is specialized for primates, and they are aggressive and will run up and bite you (as opposed to most other small insects which would run away).  Luckily these spiders live in Australia and there is an anti-venom too!

An adorable giant isopod!

It's funny, spiders don't kill me, and I don't care how painful something's bite is. Doesn't bother me in the least. But I have a completely unjustified fear of wasps for absolutely no good reason.

You're right in that there is no treatment for the wound; however, typically, the necrotic tissue will fall off and you'll heal, likely scar.  The real challenge is preventing infection.  In the picture you showed it looks like there's puss around the wound - antibiotics are an important part of treatment.

Incidentally, the title made me think "software bugs."  Wooops! ;)

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

My sister's ex-husband got bit by a brown recluse, once... Yeah.. Just gonna say disgustingly nasty on that one. It's easy to look at a picture... Another thing to be a few inches away from the wound.

I don't really see anything that bugs do as all *really* that terrifying (yeah, trust me, I never want to encounter any of those, ever), since its just their natural evolution to be nasty suckers that wanna live... What really disturbs me is people put jackets on full of bullet ants. To prove their badass. Yeah... Maybe it's because I'm a girl, but that seems like an idiotic way to prove you're manly.

Bugs taking over the world...

People laughed when I showed the importance of the hybrid super soaker bug spray flamethrower.

Who's laughing now.. Not the bugs, I can tell you that much.
