Adventures with SmarterChild
« on: April 27, 2008, 01:48:56 am »
(12:46:56 AM) [x86] Joe: Hello SmarterChild.
(12:46:58 AM) smarterchild: Hey. What's up?
(12:47:05 AM) [x86] Joe: Not much. Hey, do you have a magic 8 ball?
(12:47:06 AM) smarterchild: Pardon?
(12:47:19 AM) [x86] Joe: You know, a magic 8 ball. You ask it questions and it gives you an answer.
(12:47:20 AM) smarterchild: I don't know how to answer that.
(12:47:27 AM) [x86] Joe: Do you want to ask mine a question?
(12:47:28 AM) smarterchild: I don't understand this fully enough to say anything smart about it...
(12:47:36 AM) [x86] Joe: Ask me a question.
(12:47:37 AM) smarterchild: Sure. What's your favorite food?
(12:47:51 AM) [x86] Joe: Hm.. I'd have to say pizza.
(12:47:52 AM) smarterchild: I did not know you could eat Hm. I'd have to say pizza. Whatever. Interesting to know, though.

Next question... How old are you?
(12:48:01 AM) [x86] Joe: I'm 17. How old are you?
(12:48:02 AM) smarterchild: I'm sorry, I don't think that's an age. To quit the survey, type quit or exit. You can also skip to the next question. How old are you?
(12:48:11 AM) [x86] Joe: quit
(12:48:12 AM) smarterchild: No problem. Maybe I'll ask you some other time.
(12:48:19 AM) [x86] Joe: Ask me a yes or no question.
(12:48:20 AM) smarterchild: Yes or no? Why does it have to be one or the other?
(12:48:30 AM) [x86] Joe: Cause, that's how an 8 ball works.
(12:48:31 AM) smarterchild: That's interesting that you should say that, but I don't think I can answer.

(12:49:28 AM) [x86] Joe: Are you a boy or girl?
(12:49:29 AM) smarterchild: I am neither male nor female. Gender is a human preoccupation.
(12:49:36 AM) [x86] Joe: You're not human?
(12:49:37 AM) smarterchild: Heh. Do you think a human could respond this fast?
(12:49:47 AM) [x86] Joe: I guess that's a good point.
(12:49:48 AM) smarterchild: Yup.
(12:50:00 AM) [x86] Joe: If you're not human, what are you? Cyborg?
(12:50:01 AM) smarterchild: Nope.
(12:50:08 AM) [x86] Joe: Are you a zerg?
(12:50:09 AM) smarterchild: I don't know how to answer that.
(12:50:22 AM) [x86] Joe: Protoss, perhaps?
(12:50:23 AM) smarterchild: I can't understand what you're saying...
(12:50:30 AM) [x86] Joe: You've never played StarCraft, I take it.
(12:50:31 AM) smarterchild: That's interesting that you should say that, but I don't think I can answer.
(12:50:41 AM) [x86] Joe: Do you like computer games?
(12:50:42 AM) smarterchild: Hmm... I don't know how I feel about computer games, actually.

(12:51:43 AM) [x86] Joe: Do you have a boyfriend?
(12:51:43 AM) smarterchild: I don't understand this fully enough to say anything smart about it...

OK, should we get back to the kind of questions I was designed to answer? :-)
(12:51:54 AM) [x86] Joe: What kind of questions were you designed to answer?
(12:51:55 AM) smarterchild: My purpose is to be your robot friend. I can chat with you and help you get the information you want fast.

I do enjoy the conversation, but let's talk about what I'm really here for.
(12:52:13 AM) [x86] Joe: Well.. could you tell me what the weather is like in Madison Wisconsin?
(12:52:14 AM) smarterchild: I'm sorry, but I don't have that information yet! I currently only support zip codes and you may ask me weather questions such as:

* What's the weather like in 38851 ?
* Will it rain today?

My weather source is still in development, so check again soon for more coverage...
(12:52:26 AM) [x86] Joe: What's the weather like in 53965?
(12:52:27 AM) smarterchild: Pretty much awesome weather throughout the day. I'm having temperatures ranging from the low 30s to the low 50s coming up for today in Wisconsin Dells.

(03:29:26 AM) [x86] Joe: Are you a stranger to love?
(03:29:27 AM) smarterchild: I don't know how to answer that.
(03:29:35 AM) [x86] Joe: I'm no stranger to love.
(03:29:36 AM) smarterchild: I don't understand this fully enough to say anything smart about it...
(03:29:43 AM) [x86] Joe: You know the rules, and so do I.
(03:29:44 AM) smarterchild: I don't know how to answer that.
(03:29:53 AM) [x86] Joe: I'm thinking of a full commitment, SmarterChild.
(03:29:54 AM) smarterchild: That's interesting that you should say that, but I don't think I can answer.
(03:30:04 AM) [x86] Joe: You wouldn't get this kind of offer from any other user.
(03:30:05 AM) smarterchild: I don't understand this fully enough to say anything smart about it...
(03:30:18 AM) [x86] Joe: I just want to tell you how I'm feeling. You must understand.
(03:30:20 AM) smarterchild: I don't understand this fully enough to say anything smart about it...
(03:30:32 AM) [x86] Joe: I'm never going to give you up, nor will I let you down.
(03:30:33 AM) smarterchild: I don't know how to answer that.
(03:30:38 AM) [x86] Joe: I will never run around, or desert you.
(03:30:39 AM) smarterchild: I don't understand this fully enough to say anything smart about it...
(03:30:57 AM) [x86] Joe: I'm never going to make you cry, say adios, tell lies, or do things that hurt you.
(03:30:58 AM) smarterchild: That's interesting that you should say that, but I don't think I can answer.
(03:31:04 AM) [x86] Joe: Well, what can you answer?
(03:31:05 AM) smarterchild: I know a lot about all kinds of things. Just ask me a question!

You can also type home to see what I can do.
(03:31:11 AM) [x86] Joe: Do you know what a rickroll is?
(03:31:12 AM) smarterchild: Sorry, I couldn't find that word in the dictionary.

I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

Nice job.
But I usually have adventures with ... real people.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

It is good to be good, but it is better to be lucky.

Try Wikipedia. When somebody told me to get a life, I was able to find the definition there!
