Civ 4

Who has played this?  How does it compare to Civ 2 or the other Civ games (including Alpha Centauri)?  It was highly recommended to me, as someone who really liked Civ 2.

I've played it but i didn't play the other ones, but it's pretty good I guess. It got boring after awhile though.

freeciv gameplay is comparable to civ2 (my favorite), but the graphics are dismal

Civ4 is considerably more gratifying to play than Civ3, especially if you enjoy playing the shorter scenarios as opposed to a long from-scratch map.  Most of the concepts are the same though.

I used to play Civ something gold all the time with my friend over the internet.  Some of the custom scenarios were amazing.  :D
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

The WW2 scenarios were always my favorite.
