Am I missing something? That's a pretty common policy, and helps prevent a ton of embarrassment if the email is ever released.

Whats funny is that they never had such a thing before. I honestly can't imagine a company without one.

Heh, there are also lots of companies with no policy, although it's usually small companies.

My company recently implemented an email policy whereby email is deleted automatically after 90 days.

Nonsense, however, is practically encouraged, in an unspoken way :P
