"The officer pursued, but was unable to match his speed." -- I had a feeling that'd be the case. :)

I'd doubt a crown vic could even do 200+ KM/h. 200 is probably pushing it. But that 8 cyl engine sure does help.

Yeah, so if you actually get caught going 200km/h+, it's your own damn fault! :)

I don't know about anywhere else, but here police officers are never supposed to 'chase down' suspects.  They are told to attempt to get the license plate number or a description of the vehicle failing that so that they can be tracked down later.  High speed pursuits are just asking for someone to get injured, especially in an urban area.

They'll chase them, but the Sargeant might give the order to end the pursuit if it gets too dangerous or risky.

Uhh, you're really mistaken then. They'll do atleast around 140.

140mph or 140km/h? Because 200 km/h is roughly 130mph.

What are you talking about?

"The 2006–present Police Interceptors equipped with a 3.55:1 rear axle ratio from the factory are electronically limited to 120 mph (193 km/h) due to the lower driveline-critical vehicle speed, while the Police Interceptors equipped with a 3.27:1 rear axle ratio have generally been limited to approximately 130 mph (209 km/h). This compares to 110 mph (177 km/h) for the "civilian" model"

Like I said earlier, "200 is probably pushing it". I am not mistaken.

Like I posted earlier, Police Interceptors are electronically limited not to go any more than about 210 KM/h. You don't know shit all.

Most sedans will go 120mph, if you don't mind horribly damaging them.
