Very interesting game. Tetris like, but also adds the physics factor of a real tower. Check it out!

The first time I played it, I kept getting the green 2x2 squares, so I thought I was on ezmode or something.

Played like twenty games so far, haven't actually finished yet... maybe I should dump more pieces.

I discarded most of the pieces in the beginning to make a stable base, started tapering the tower down ~200, and when I had about 30 pieces left, I just basically held the down arrow to get as high as I could before the wobbly shit fell

LOL!

The game is very addicting. I can hardly get my towers past ~375.

Java seems to destroy any web browser other than Chrome.

Actually, it destroys Chrome too, but you can kill the plugin process and reload the page.

Java works fine on me.

Anyway, the game makes no sense: there's no force that would suddenly cause my towers to start wobbling. All the pieces line up perfectly, and they magically start tipping?

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Wind? The impact of each new brick?

wtf this isnt tetris
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

Wind? Definitely not. 1x4 pieces would not be able to stand straight up more than 2-3 high if this was the case, and I've definitely stacked them higher.

The force of the blocks? It shouldn't be. They seem to be lined up perfectly, then somewhere along the way they unalign. Unevenly. It's annoying.

Proof? Try stacking ONLY 2x2 blocks directly where they spawn. You can do 1x4 if they're put down longways (4x1), but I still recommend only 2x2 pieces. Somewhere it'll magically start to wobble. If there's no wind and the only force is a pseudo-gravity pulling the blocks down, something is amiss.

If everything is the same (mass, volume), the books are perfectly lined up (like they initially do in the game), and the only force acting on the books is gravity, I don't see what should start going wrong.

I think (since I'm somewhat experienced with ActionScript) I might disassemble the Flash game and find out what exactly they do... just for fun.

I think that's the point.  It's simulating building a stack in an imperfect world.

I'm pretty sure skyscrapers sway a noticeable amount with the wind, for example.

I want him to find out what they have in the game that makes the blocks sway, though. It'll be cool.

503

I did the 1x4 standing on end, and at 240 it started to wobble, at 320 it moved enough that the blocks were no longer in line.

The 2x2s started wobbling at 199.

468, but it was literally falling (after 10 blocks left I just stacked 'em, before then I made them all fit together so there wasn't much way for them to fall) when I ran out of bricks. :O
