They really let you slashdot yourself?  That sounds like something that would be against some kind of rule...

Well, I wrote it in the third person so they technically don't know.

But, I also wrote it well and was honest and everything, so why wouldn't they? If people submit their own work, it doesn't make the news any less relevant. It's not like they take every submission.

Also, I've submitted a lot of my own stuff that's been posted: http://slashdot.org/~iago-vL/submissions

I clicked this on the slashdot RSS feed because it seemed interesting and saw you submitted/wrote it. It was cool. :)

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Is that why the forums were a bit slow yesterday? ^_^
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

I don't see why it should matter if you're submitting your own work, as long as the person reviewing the submission and making the decision as to whether or not it gets posted is impartial.

Yesterday morning, for a fairly short period, yeah -- I had  3k-4k ping because of the increased traffic. In fairness, though, it was only a couple thousand people in a 1-2 hour period. Most of the time, it was ok, but there were small bursts.
