but he acknowledged it's a "drop in the bucket" and said there's a "confidence gap" that he needs to overcome.
So why bother at all if you're not even going to put forth some real effort in cutting spending?

So you're against more efficient Government?
Or are you just dismantling the Republican porkbarrel red herring, seeing as it amounts to 3% of the Federal Budget?

One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

Just some additional info, since you seem to imply that Obama is half-assing curbing spending:

Obama halving the Federal Deficit

Obama saving $40 billion a year

It's not really a red herring as Obama's admitting it is nothing but a "drop in the bucket." He cut some spending, it's a good effort but not enough to severely impact things in the short-term (and he acknowledges that). Where is the distraction from the issue?

I'm talking about Republicans endlessly moaning about "Pork" in the Stimulus, but now downplaying Government budget cuts.

I'm all for govt budget cuts but I don't think stimulus pork and budget cuts necessarily go hand-in-hand. The goal should be to alleviate bill-level pork and also cut the budget.

@CrAz3D: NPR?

Cutting Pork (A republican suggestion) and cutting the budget (the President's suggestion) are both very very small savings in spending relative to the size of the Federal Budget, but Republicans only criticize one of the two approaches.

That's my point. Cutting both are good. I'm just pointing out hypocrisy.

I don't think Republicans are criticizing the general idea of budget cuts. lol.

@CrAz3D: The best way to avoid complaints of bias is to use news sources with a liberal bias, obviously. NPR is a good choice.

They downplay the efforts based on the argument that it's small compared to the size of the overall Budget, yet they cry endlessly about Pork barrel spending which..also is small in size compared to the overall Budget.

Liberal bias is also known as reality.

You seem to have gotten pretty good at pointing out hypocrisy lately... But apparently you don't have a complete grasp on the idea of what it is.

My point is that a great majority of what is posted from liberal blogs and sources is verifiable truth.

ThinkProgress, Crooks and Liars, DailyKos, all provide sources to back up their claims.

That, and NPR is hardly a liberal outlet.

NPR is shown to lean left as is the Drudge Report (wtf?)
http://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucla/Media-Bias-Is-Real-Finds-UCLA-6664.aspx
Liberal MSM bias
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/general_current_events/media/americans_see_liberal_media_bias_on_tv_news

However, in determining the neutrality of the actual report (not the commentators), it goes NPR, Fox CNN.
Quote
When it comes to delivering news without bias, 37% believe NPR accomplishes that goal. Thirty-six percent (36%) say the same for Fox and 32% believe it’s true of CNN.

Interestingly though, NPR has more Republican guests than Democratic.

Your first source even says it's hardly a liberal outlet. Like I said.
