I was planning to over clock it so that is why I wanted the cooler. but i guess I don't need it.
as for corsair ram I have been hearing good things from the dominator... but if ram is ram then I wouldn't mind buying cheap ram.

but I still plan to get the intel i7 processor.
and what is that thermal compound for?

Go to your control panel, Administrator tools (or something like that) and open Computer Management.  Go to Storage-> Disk management, and you should be able to enable your drive from there.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

Found it thanks Blaze.
I also wasn't seeing it because I did not have my Hard drive hooked up to the right sata. which I don't have enough of. so I am getting an external inclosure.
There were some plugs on the mobo that looked like the slots where I was suppose to the wires but I guess that did not work so I switched my CD drive off and plugged that one and it worked.

but the point off all that was to day I am going to get an external drive.

What's with the intel hard-on? They may be the ones pushing the envelope, but they're not the best value.
That depends heavily on your price point.

Perhaps for high (more than I personally would spend) price points. None of the intel chips I considered were better values than equivalent AMD chips. Since the world revolves around me, we can conclude that AMD chips are a better value in the general case. ;)

I could build a comparable computer on your ram budget. Why are you buying the most expensive stuff possible?

This is what I'm currently saving up for: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=8676994
[edit] Incidentally, I know that's the wrong mobo; I haven't bothered to change the wishlist. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.198660

$160 for 6GB of RAM? That's not a horrible price. heh.

I settled on what I'm getting, and placed my order last night:

[edit] For the record: $652.22 inc. shipping
Why'd you pick a 128-bit video card, even if you are running SLI? And will you ever really utilize that quad core? Seems like overkill, imo.
