Anyone ever have pink eye for < 24 hours?
« on: June 11, 2009, 05:30:21 pm »
I'm not sure that it was exactly less than 24 hours, but pretty close....

Yesterday driving to work my right eye bugged me most of the day; I occasionally saw this funny blur out of it.  Finally after going crazy itching it a lot yesterday before I left the office, I checked and my eye was all red, and I had some dried goop (I assumed mucus) on my lower eyelash.  I wiped it off and went home.  It came back a bit later, and had spread to my left eye; by the time I went to bed, both eyes were flushing.  I woke up a couple times in the night and when I checked they were both very pink.  When I got up this morning the first thing I did was call the doctor's office for a prescription for a med, but then I took a shower and used a washcloth to get the crap off of my eyelids.

By 10:00 am this morning I was fine, my eyes seem to have cleared up.

Anyone ever have something like that?  I'm sick this week - I figured it might have been bacterial conjunctivitis (I'm on antibiotics, azithromycin 250mg, for strep).  But I've never heard of it hitting and receding so quickly.

You know, there's always the chance of it not being pink eye, and just irritation, right?
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

Did the girl who gave you a lap dance last night fart on your face?

I don't know what you're into... but that might be your problem

Did anybody else get totally turned on by this post?

But seriously, yes -- I've had something very similar to that from what I think was allergies, when I was younger (mid-teens?). Once in awhile, I'd be somewhere (usually my friend's, who's family is African) and suddenly I'd get symptoms very much like yours. I'd clean my eyes and wait awhile, and eventually the swelling/pink would go down.

So no, not pinkeye, but similar symptoms from something else.

I've had that sort of thing too.  Nothing to worry about.

You're allergic to Africans?  :O!!
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

That's what I surmised.
You know, there's always the chance of it not being pink eye, and just irritation, right?
I thought that was probably the case, but I also thought that it might be best to check.

The fact that there are a lot of uncommon things in the house -- in their cooking, they use a lot of different spices that I'm not exposed to anywhere else. Since it's an allergy thing, and that's the only place it happens, I'm reasonably sure it's related.

(I wasn't implying that there's anything bad or weird or whatever about it -- we were very close friends in elementary school.)
