Graphics Card Fan
« on: June 30, 2009, 11:42:19 pm »
My fan doesn't seem to want to work anymore, so I need a new one.  Any suggestions?

My Graphics Card:
EVGA 9500 GT
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

So, I called EVGA today and it turns out that after registering my card I still have a year left on my warranty!  Hooray!  I just need to send the card in and get a new one. :D

I've a lifetime warranty for some reason on my graphics cards.  Who thought that'd be a good decision?
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

Not really a big deal, since graphics cards are obsolete after 2 years anyways. After 4 years, my 5900GT was still under warranty, but instead of replacing it, I just bought a new 9400GT for $50 :P

I'd say it might even be easier (and cheaper, depending on whether you need to pay shipping) to just buy a new fan to replace the broken one. Then again, there's always the chance you waste your money on an incompatible fan.

I was initially going to, but when I went to one of the local computer stores here to try and purchase a fan they suggested against it.  With that advice coupled with the fact that I am not sure what to look for when purchasing a compatible fan, I have decided to just send it in.

I bought myself a fan. Best idea ever. My card still rocks, and now stays nice and cool.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.
