Funeral for a Friend
« on: June 25, 2009, 05:25:21 pm »
I have this friend named Joseph.  I have known him since I was 6 years old.  We were the best of friends until mid-way through High School.  We both had a similar group of friends, but we both preferred different ones, so we eventually drifted apart a little bit.  After I moved to Springfield, from Kansas City, we fell even more apart; however, we still spoke to each other.  On Sunday 6/21/2009 his Dad found him dead in his bed.  He apparently died in his sleep from taking a pain medication, before going to bed, that he happened to be allergic to.  I found out on Tuesday while at work.  His funeral is this Saturday, and I am trying to get off work so I can go to it.  This has been a pretty crappy week. :(
The once grove of splendor,
Aforetime crowned by lilac and lily,
Lay now forevermore slender;
And all winds that liven
Silhouette a lone existence;
A leafless oak grasping at eternity.

Yikes! That sucks...

I'm always afraid of taking medications I've never taken before -- I don't know of any I'm allergic to, but it only takes one. I couldn't imagine how horrible that'd be, especially for the family!

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

I know how shocking this type of thing can be.....  I hope the funeral helps his family and friends.

Good news: I got off work and will be attending the funeral.
