I win!

All I had to do was put the SP6 file (which I was trying to find in the second picture), along with the firefox installer (ugh, ie2 ftl) on an ISO and mount it as a CD drive. After installing SP6, I was able to install VMWare tools and get a decent resolution (like, decent as in what I use on my host OS).

If anyone wants to see a few web pages in IE2 for the lulz, let me know.

for the final screenshot, here's ie2 and firefox. guess my shift key broke/ thats weird, oh well
