« on: November 25, 2009, 09:02:39 pm »
does anyone have any information or links to information or recommended reading on the recognition/perception of signs? I've had overcoming feelings of sign recognition recently, pointing to a significant life decision I've been pondering. It's all been very situational and has cleared things up to the extent that it feels way more than coincidental. Parts have even felt spiritual. I'm interested in reading more about it from not only a supernatural and religious perspective but also just the subconscious connecting of events or sightings. Personal opinion is also welcome.

Tuberload? Maybe you have some info on this?

Side note: I was recommended the book The Alchemist today because it deals with this sort of thing, and I checked it out. I'm currently about half way through but so far it's a good book, I recommend it. It's short too, around 160 pages. Quick easy read with a good message.

Did you say drugs? I feel like I read your original post and all I saw was "I'm on drugs."

Seriously, nobody here has heard of this happening? The first promise for reciting the rosary is that you will be sent signal graces. By "sign recognition" I mean seeing or experiencing things (not illusions, just looking at things in a new light) that feel as if they are there as a sign of what to do, or as reassurance that what you're doing is right or wrong. Omens, signals, etc. Whatever you want to call them. This is not an uncommon phenomenon, and I know its mentioned often from a biblical perspective, but I'm not too well versed on religion so that's why I posted.

In any case Sunday-Tuesday had a number of strange occurrences that aided me in a significant life decision. They could have been coincidental, but it seems as if they were too well related.

That is your belief. But do you automatically assume people who follow astrology are under the influence?

Go check your star chart then, Trust.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

Like serendipity? It really depends on the outlook you have on your personal experiences, and what you decide to make of them.

Yes, I am a Christian. But I don't have one of those bibles with the star charts in the back.

The first promise of Mary is that those who recite the Rosary will receive "signal graces." No star chart required.

That sounds Catholic. I have no idea what a rosary is. A flower?

    * A sign of the cross on the Crucifix and then the Apostles' Creed;
    * An Our Father on the first large bead;
    * A Hail Mary on each of the three small beads with the following intentions (the theological virtues):
         1. For the increase of faith
         2. For the increase of hope
         3. For the increase of charity
    * A Glory Be to the Father;
    * Announce the mystery
    * An "Our Father" on the large bead
    * A "Hail Mary" on each of the adjacent ten small beads;
    * A "Glory Be to the Father";
    * Again an Our Father on the next large bead, followed by ten Hail Marys on the small beads, the Glory Be to the Father, (and Fatima Prayer, cf. below) for each of the following decades;
    * In conclusion, Hail Holy Queen and a sign of the cross.

That would take forever.

Our Father
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Glory Be to the Father
Our Father
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Glory Be to the Father
Our Father
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Hail Mary
Glory Be to the Father
Hail Holy Queen

I'll see you next week.
