Wow, thanks, that's generous. Ideally I'd like to futz around with PHP and SQL but if I can't get SQL access on your VPS I would understand. In that case PHP would be enough. What do you think?

Well, it's a VPS so I can do whatever I want.  Making you your own MySQL account would be trivial.  I'd probably just create you a user account and a MySQL account and let you go at it.  Do you have a domain?  If not, you'd have to live with ender.sidoh.org or something... which is just awkward. lol
