Summer Plans
« on: April 19, 2011, 02:21:12 pm »
I'll be taking 2-3 classes this summer (two Personal Financial Planning courses, and a law school externship class). Externship is the same as an internship . . . pay the school so you can get course credit and work for free. Awesome. I have meetings May 13 and May 14 about the externship. I leave for FL on May 15, and will not return until May 30. I am HOPING I can work it out with my supervising attorney so that I can start work on June 1, but I will not know who I will work for until May 14. F.

FL Plans:
May15-16 - drive to FL, spend the night in LA on the 15th
17th is dani's bday, so we're kayaking with her dad
18-19th is Disney shit
20-21 is chilll @ dani's house/the beach
22nd is family bday stuff (her dad's bday is on 23). I guess I get to meet the WHOLE family.
24-26 is Keys. should be bad ass. sunset booze cruise. snorkeling. airboat tour of the everglades.
29-30 driving back, and staying another night in LA.

June 1 Summer I starts...oye.

Finals end May ~18. I start my internship around Houston on May 23rd. I work all summer and come back in August. I think I'll visit Denver in July for a friend's birthday. I'll also plan something for mid-July for my wife.
errr... something like that...

Maybe go on a two week long vacation somewhere, or not.

Work.

Buy motorcycle.  Ride motorcycle.

Got my class M permit the other day. Found a pair of motorcycles (one runs, one for parts) for $300 on craigslist that I have my dad looking into.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

Sweeeeet.

Yeah I'm definitely not into the whole fixer up thing, good luck with that.  I'll definitely be buying used but not that used, heh.

I'm probably going to get a used Kawasaki Ninja 650R, preferably a 2010 model if I can find a good deal on one, but I'd go for a 2009 model if the price is right.  Definitely be ideal if I could find one with some road rash already, since the odds are I'm going to drop it and won't be planning on getting another bike anytime soon after.

I take my motorcycle safety course at the end of the month, so assuming all goes well I'll have my "M" class license sometime early May.  Although I'm very anxious about failing the driving test (not the written part) for a few reasons:

1.  I've never rode a motorcycle before in my life (not even a dirt bike).
2.  I'm not proficient or very familiar with driving stick on a manual car, therefore adding an additional learning curve to learning to drive a motorcycle since they're principally the same, just with some differences like where the clutch is (left-hand lever), how acceleration is applied (right-hand grip to throttle), how gears are shifted (right-foot pedal/lever), etc.  Oh well, I paid for the more expensive "Personalized Rider Course" which will have two instructors and a maximum of 6 students so I'm hoping this will help supplement my lack of practical riding experience.
3.  I'm Asian... kekeke.

About the only thing I have going for me is that I can ride a bicycle and Google/read, kekeke.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

I have a number of fun trips coming up.  The rest of the time I'll probably be keeping myself busy with home improvement projects.

May - Omaha: weekend trip
May - Tulsa: Foo Fighters concert
June - San Antonio: vacation
July - Boson: Revis concert, maybe more
August/September/October - camping trip TBD

Camping is the best in January.  Snow is significantly better than rain.  :(

It's also best when done in a hotel that has a pool.

I don't know about the pool part.. unless it's a fancy hotel.  I hate pools with excessive chemicals.
