When I think of people who are vegetarians or vegans... I always picture in my mind a skinny/athletic, fit, healthy person... but it seems this girl I know IRL, who is the only real vegetarian I know personally, is overweight... >_<; Eating healthy means squat if you don't exercise I guess.
It's partly genetics, too. I'm vegan, I eat fairly healthy, I run, I bike everywhere (no car), I climb, I do a variety of physical activities, and I'm overweight (less than I used to be, but still).
And yeah, vegetarian/vegan != healthy. I can eat potato chips and french fries all day and still be vegan.
