Medicare doesn't go to you, unless you're over 65 anyway. If you get hurt on the job that'd be workers compensation. I don't know what benefits kroger has.

Unions suck, they're just ways for liberals to get more money out of hardworking people. They were good 100 years ago, but I don't see a point now. They're supposed to fight for better workign conditions and wages and stuff.

Don't let the job take over your life though; mine has and it sucks. My paychecks can be large, but I am always working.

Some don't have that option. While it's true to do your best and stay young at heart learning to realize you'll be working the rest of your life will be inevitable. I had to learn early about managing personal finances and as well as most of you know medical problems. Whilst it hasn't made me feel bitter towards what I do it leaves me feeling somewhat empty and hording up a lot of would have should haves.

The supreme irony of life is that hardly anyone gets out of it alive.

Over the semester I've been using a yo yo as a stress reliever while doing difficult homework and assignments.  The one I have is a fixed axle modified design (this means, its a cross between imperial and butterfly) and its only useful for throwing and catching ... it does not sleep.  I've got pretty good at it ... I can even throw the yo yo, up, down, and horizontally.  Last week I decided to get a real trick yoyo and ordered a Spintastics Tornado 2 which has a modified design and a ball bearing for sleeping.  Anyways, I just got it today and I am so excited.  It's so mesmerizing to play with ... I learned how to do rock the cradle ... maybe next semester with more frustration I will be a master at most of the tricks.

Did you know that they used to use yoyos to kill birds?

Are you kidding me? They sold out in less than 40 seconds. Good job! (I didn't get one, so I'll be buying one tomorrow for $400 w/ Gears of War) I'd have much rather gotten the $100 core and just bought the accessories. Damn you! :(

Wow, listen to this.

About a year ago when gas prices started going up the guy who lives across the street from my grandfather stole gas out of his motor home. He was up here at the time and nothing could be proven, but my grandfather installed a security camera overlooking his RV Port.

Well, since then my grandfather has just stopped talking or associating with this guy completely. He brags about being in the Italian Mafia and how he killed some guy in California, he carries the newspaper article around and trys to show people it (my grandpa refused to listen.) In I guess "retalliation" for my grandparents not talking to him he's done stuff like scratch my grandpas explorer, burn a very large portion of their grass with a bleach solution, put a snake head in their bushes, and last night he spraypainted "Harley Davidson" on my grandparents front door. My grandma heard them outside revving the engines at about 1:30 and then around 2:30 he called my grandparents and was like "go look at your door, that's what happens when you snub me."

This guy sounds insane. My grandparents live in a 55+ community, so it's not like it's some young guy. The police can't do anything without proof and I guess neither can the Homeowners Association. He said he's going to leave that up on the door. Maybe he'll install some more cameras, I don't know. I'm worried though because my grandpa goes on 30,40 mile bike rides by himself and the guy could follow him and kill him or something.

Tell your grandpa to get a nice gun & sit waiting for the guy to approach his house again.

If he has spray paint, say it looks like a gun & shoot the dude.  Make sure to aim good, you don't want him coming back.

My grandpa used to collect guns (maybe he still does, I don't know), so he has some. :)

But isn't that guy insane?

Haha. No not really. Plus I don't think that'd be allowed by the Homeowners Association. :P

But it is Florida so they have plenty of Mexicans. This guy is 70, btw. I thought old people were nice. :(

Hmm, I don't think thats true. The only large Hispanic population we have are Cubans and Puerto Ricans I think.

Favorite quote from a thrash metal chat room on Soulseek.

"You guys have an Brazilian thrash?"
"You mean Mexican thrash?"
"No, Brazilian thrash."
"Since when is Brazil North of the boarder?"
"It's not?"
"Then it's Mexican thrash."
