k, so:
I lost my phone (Which my parents originally purchased for me years ago, as I had no desire to have a phone, much less spend money on one).
I said: Oh well, give it a few days, it may turn up.
My mom then took it upon herself to see if any calls had been made, find out one call had been made, and therefore disconnect service to that number.
I saw that this really didn't solve the problem at all, but rather simply made it more difficult to get my phone back.
I find out who had been called, and called them, getting nothing the first day.
My parents tell me I will be paying for a new phone. I tell them I have no desire to get a new phone, much less spend money on one.
My dad goes out and buys me a phone while I'm in a class.
I return home to find a new phone (shittier than my old shitty one), and a 50$ bill.
I'm forced to pay for it.
I try the number previously mentioned, and the guy has my phone. I meet him, give him 10$ 'cause I thought it was a good move on his part, and because I figured I'll get money back on the phone I don't want which I was forced to pay for.
My dad refuses to give me any money back or to allow me to return the phone he bought me.
tl;dr (in question form): Should I be able to return a phone to a phone company one day after purchase and receive nearly the amount of money spent on it in return?
