So I had my first sleep paralysis experience the other night, it wasn't cool.
cool?
wtf is that?
When you're asleep your brain shuts down the rest of your body so that you don't act on things you do in-dream, like fighting a monster - this is to keep you and those around you safe. However, sometimes your brain will wake up from a dream but the rest of your body is still temporarily paralyzed. You often get the feeling of a 'presence' in the room, and it feels like something is sitting on you. What happened in my experience was I was on my side and it felt like something was rubbing my back back and forth, and then they started to take my ankle and rotate my foot pretty rapidly. I could see, but I was still partly in dream world so what I was seeing was some other place I guess overlayed over my room. I tried saying "go away demon" but I was unable to speak, but I started to recite the Lords Prayer in my head and it stopped.
Many people believe this is the act of demons, but too keep me sane I'm going to assume it was just from lack of sleep over the past week or something. But my mom used to get these a lot when she was a kid, and usually shortly after something bad would happen.
