The obvious question is: are you studying enough? spending enough time on your problem sets?
No, and that's because the problems he assigns are simple. And he doesn't assign many problems. Weekly homework takes up a couple of hours and it's only 4-5 problems a piece, and daily homework is usually just one simple assignment out of the book to check if we've read.
I should start studying and applying it more, though. :/
And his "curve" goes like this:
At the end of the quarter, top 30% of the class automatically get an A. Middle 40% get a B. Following 20% get a C, and "exceptionally poor performance" gets a D/F. With a "high pass" on lab/discussion portion of the class, it tags a + onto your grade (I'm currently headed towards a high pass). A low pass = a -. So, what I'm hoping for is to hit that middle 40% or top 30% by the end of the year with a high pass. I'm OK with a B+... I'm not OK with a C of any kind. :/
So I doubt he'll curve individual grades on midterms and such.
