I received a Logitech G700 mouse for my birthday, and this thing is so cool. I can adjust the sensitivity, make my mouse wheel roll like crazy, and program buttons to do stuff! Plus, it's much more comfortable than my old, $10 mouse from 2005. :)
I used to think that I didn't need all the crazy fancy features like a weighted scrollwheel or horizontal scrolling. But after a few months of using my MX1000 mouse, I have trouble not having those features!

I don't think I've seen a horizontal scroll bar in like 10 years

Yeah, I have a Logitech G9x.  It's fantastic for all the same reasons.  :)
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Running with Code has a new home!

Our species really annoys me.

I installed an old game from a dvd today. It was unpleasant. I think my download rate is 4-5 times the read rate of my dusty old dvd drive.

For some reason, this reminds me of how I hate Steam and older games they sell. For the entire Jedi Knight series, I had to search on forums to get a fix for Windows 7. Why doesn't Steam just release these fixes themselves? GOG does :)
errr... something like that...

I like my mice simple...cheese and peanut butter eating creates so that I can set traps for them and have a decent presumption that I'll catch one of the buggers.  I don't want to run into a mouse that is like the rat from the animated movie Ratatouille, cuz then I'd have to spend $80 on a chunk of cheese to catch the little bastard.

OR!, I guess I could buy the cheese (and some nice wine and crackers) for myself, lure the guy out, and simply place a box over him and catch him that way.  I guess I could then release him...or kill him quickly with a shovel.  Whatevs.

Fair enough. I was just wondering if there was an objective reason for wanting to see it.

I thought it was a little strange that Chrome didn't show it when I first switched, but now it doesn't bother me and I realize it's totally unnecessary. It makes it clear that I'm browsing with HTTPS when I am, which is really the only reason to show the protocol.

I don't have an issue with Chrome or Firefox 7 omitting the display of "http://".  They still prefix the "https://" for encrypted sites, in addition to their security indicators (Firefox it's a 5-tiered color scheme, Chrome it's a 4-tiered icon/color scheme).

I would have more an issue getting used to it if they didn't prefix the "https://" and only had the security indicators.

What would have been really annoying is if when you copy & pasted a URL from the address bar they didn't include the "http://" in what's copied to the clipboard.  With Chrome and Firefox 7, as long as the copied selection is from the start of the URL, it transparently includes the "http://" to what's copied to the clipboard.

From what I can tell, it only omits the protocol prefix for "http://".
