New tattoo...
« on: July 18, 2005, 03:36:28 pm »
Well I got a new tattoo last weekend.

Anyone else here have any? Do you like or dislike them? I am just curious.

Maybe here sometime I will post a pic of the tattoos I have so far.
I am prepared to be ridiculed for what I believe, are you?

Even if it weren't against my religion, I doubt I would get one. Doesn't seem like my kind of thing, I don't really jump into "permanent" things.

If I may ask, why?

I get tattoos based on my past, life experiences, and self-expression. I do not pick tattoos off the wall to look cool. All of mine are created by me.

All of my tattoos can be easily covered by a short sleeved shirt, so I can choose when to reveal or conceal them.

To further elaborate on this conversation: if anyone has a good reason behind not liking them then by all means please post. If you like them elaborate why, if you do not fit into one of the aforementioned categories then do not post.  :)

I don't know, it's just not something for me. I don't really want to do something to my body that I can't undo (I'm very indecisive and I'd probably change my mind.) I like that yours can be covered up easily though, that's how it should be.

Piercings and tattoos are against my religion.  That and I'm afraid of pointy things going in and out of my skin very quickly depositing "stuff"....eww.  Almost as bad as spiders....

I dont care one way or another. I'm not getting one, nor do I have anything against anyone who agrees or disagrees with me.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

Well, to create a little debate, all I can really say is that I don't like the image they represent.  Sure, it isn't always the case, but tattooes tend to be something that people get to appear "tough" or "scary", and they tend to get associated with bikers or gangers.  So yeah, I don't like them because they represent an image that I wouldn't want to show.

I would like to see pictures, though :P

Yes this is true, but it is also a stereotype. :) There is a large amount of people that like tattoos for similar reasons as mine who are nothing like bikers or gangsters.

What about women with tattoos? I personaly think a hot woman with a good looking, original tattoo, in the right places is the sexiest thing in the world. Do you think they get them to be tough or scary?

Now let's look at me for example. To be honest I can't explain deep down exact reasons I like them. I just know that I do like them. I enjoy incorporating parts of my life into a permanent form of artwork. I can put on a shirt, and here soon a pair of pants to cover them up, or I can allow certain people to see me for who I am.

This forum is probably not the right place for this type of conversation, but this is a real side of me so I thought I would bring it up.

This forum is a fine place.  It's a clan forum, and you're part of the clan.

I don't think tattooes look attractive on a woman at all.  But that's just my opinion.

Stereotypes are great.

I peirced both of my ears. I'm gangsta.
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

I thought both ears meant you're gay?

Further proof that only low-life's have tattooes?
