Microsoft fighting pirated copies of Windows
« on: July 26, 2005, 05:16:46 pm »
For new patches, Microsoft will now be checking if your copy of Windows is valid/legal:

I guess Microsoft is going broke from software pirates.

Hahahaha. <3 iago.

I might have to start doing something along those lines... as long as I can have my daily dose of WoW without any huge additional hitches. >_>

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

This doesn't affect me (I have a legal copy,) but I certainly agree with it.

Apparently they fixed that pretty quickly.  But Experts are working on another way around it, I'm told.

I'm valid, only because Dell gave me a copy.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

I could get a valid copy from school, but that's just annoying.  It's not worth my time to walk to a room, so I just use the burnt one I've always had.
