Cabin on the Mountain
« on: August 13, 2005, 10:24:34 am »
a group of mountain climbers paid a lot of money to be the first to scale a mountain.  After days of climbing they finally reached the top.  Once there, they found, to their dismay, a cabin and three frozen bodies.  Since they were the first to ever climb the summit, how could this be possible?

How about... Their was an avalance that made the height of the mountain decrease to the point of a nice cabin camp became the top of the mountain.  The avalance also froze the campers. ?
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

Maybe they really weren't the first to climb it? Or they climbed the wrong mountain.

The people on top flew up there via a helicopter and were dropped, to establish a shelter for people that climb (or similar goal) but they froze.

nah, we just kill people, canada saves them all. It was clearly canada. Duh.

Hm, if a tent counts as a "cabin", they pitched a tent, then saw it. The three dead bodies were clearly just squirrels.

Side-note: How come all your riddles all deal with death? =p
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

Ok, hint time:

They were human bodies.

However, there is one word in the riddle with multiple meanings.  The one you assume it means is incorrect.  In a day or two, if I remember, I'll post which word exactly.

Did someone use a helicopter to move a cabin ontop of the mountain?

edit:
My dad read this and told me the answer. :(

I contest this!  The answer doesn't make sense.  If these people got to the top via plane crash, and the mountain was never scaled, odds are it was a very big/intimidating mountain.  If the crash survivors had enough strength and ingenuity to build a cabin above the tree line, why not just go all the way down instead of down-up-down-up-down-up hauling felled trees to construct a cabin?
