File browsing is bonkers.
« on: September 10, 2005, 02:04:24 pm »
Ok, so a couple weeks ago when I would open up winamp and add a song to the playlist via Add Song and it would arrange it by name automagically.
Now whenever I try to do it, it arranges it by file size. I've tried changing EVERYTHING I could think of, and it does this for EVERY program except:

--CoreFTP
--Windows Explorer

EVERY program does it. It is fucking ANNOYING.. I don't know what my brother did to the goddamn computer.

Am I missing something? I don't see system restore in his post anywhere. =(
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

When you have a nice windows configuration thats all updated and the such, you should make a backup incase of just this type of thing.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

Are you just dumb or do you ad block?

deadly: Windows Explorer > View > Arrange Icons By > Name > below name there should be a choice to Auto Arrange, check that as well. Now, to make sure that this applies the changes to every folder: Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > Apply to all Folders.

Winamp: Options > Playlist > Check the box that says 'When loading multiple files, sort by name.' > Close.

Edit

Just re-read your post, deadly, I'll just leave the Windows Explorer thing there anyway, heh. :(

It's a huge in-line image, and not all of us are on high-speed internet connections.  You should link to images like that, not include them in your post.

I'm not going to take into consideration one person out of 150+ others who could be reading this, the help was meant for deadly, who has a good connection, if Joe can't load it that fast, it's not my or the person I'm trying to help's problem, now, if deadly was on 56k, I would have made it a link, and given the file a lower quality, same with if it had been Joe I was trying to help out. It's nothing personal, just I'm not trying to please everyone reading.

It's just common courtesy.  I don't like downloading large images either, and I'm on highspeed.

And it's not 1 out of 150+.  There are several people here on slow connections.  Just because you're trying to help one person, doesn't' mean you have to be rude to others.

I wasn't being rude the least bit, just didn't link to the image, if you dislike it, make it a link yourself, the fact is I know deadly has a good enough connection to load that, and he was the one I was trying to help, if others have a problem loading it, then they can stop looking at the page.

Now, you should know pretty damn well that takes effort. :P

deadly: I know Windows normally (assuming you're not a system admin) normally gives a hint as to what the person's password is to their account. Well, if you haven't already, try guessing. :P For example, my friend's older sister (17 I beleive?) her hint was Pooh, so, I tried PoohBear, and that turned out to be the password. I know people normally make obvious passwords to access their computer, so gogogo. :) It'll save you a lot of trouble if the above didn't help.
