Installing SP2
« on: September 18, 2005, 04:11:05 pm »
In a last-ditch effort to repair some broken sys files, along with cmd (never realized how much I used that), netstat, and ping, I'm upgrading to SP2.

EDIT -
In short, good bye.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

Yay! No more Joe!

Err, why not install another OS? FreeBSD? Slackware? Anything? =P

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Newby, send me slackware CDs and a hardware modem (as opposed to a winmodem) and I will gladly switch to slackware the very SECOND it gets here.

On a side note, it didn't fix a damn thing.

SP2 isn't horrible. I find nothing wrong with it... that is ... I never used XP before SP2 ;P

I'm not a big fan of SP2, since it's more annoying, but I like installing it on my family's computers.  It's good for dumb people because I don't have to continually look after them.

I was installing XP SP2 today, then realized I didn't have a CDKey.

So, hello from slackware.  :P

I'm not a fan of Windows in general. I use Windows once every like 6 days to play games on weekends except on my laptop to print. I'm too lazy to setup CUPS ;P!

I don't know how, but since upgrading to SP2 it has figured out that I don't want to be bothered with messages like "You don't have a virus scanner installed."  I guess it just stops being annoying or I find a way to make it un-annoying.  *shrug*

Incidentally Joe, you should know that patching something with such serious defects likely wouldn't have made your defects go away.  :P
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Running with Code has a new home!

Our species really annoys me.

That's all in the XP Security Panel. You can just select the option "I'll control my own Anti-Virus" or something along those lines, same with firewall, and then it  doesn't bother you.
