As you all know, Blaze is mailing me Slackware (should be here tomorrow, right Blaze?). He stuck a Windows XP Corporate Pro disk in there. I'm sorry, but I simply can not part with WoW. I'm reformatting and dual-booting Slackware and WXPCP (too long to type!). I'll be in Slackware most of the time, for days at a time perhaps (I don't play WoW as much as some of you may think), but yeah, I'm reinstalling Windows.

@Newby: I don't remember if you said it on the forums, IRC, or AIM, but you're right, Linux on narrowband (thats what its called, so be quiet) isn't fun.

Do you want to continue? [Y/n]

Also, I am not giving up on using Linux, I'm simply giving up on trying to get WoW working with it. Well, it does work under wine, but rightclick interaction with NPCs is broken and my FPS gets totally owned (10FPS max, standing still with nothing happening, 2FPS moving).
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

In other words, my edit is correct, and I'll never use Windows again? Kay.
You'll be back to Windows in no time.

I'll never use Windows again...

...I _cant_ go back.

You set yourself up for your inevitable downfall. :]

As for your graphics card getting 2FPS, do you have graphics card drivers installed?

root@impaler:~# fglrxinfo
display: :0.0  screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON X800 XT Platinum Edition Generic
OpenGL version string: 1.3.5272 (X4.3.0-8.16.20)

If it says something like Mesa, you don't have it installed. It definetely helps shit out, considering I can't game without my graphics card drivers installed (and compatible with my kernel) :O!

EDIT -- DAMN YOU MYNDY. YOU STOLE MY QUOTE WHILE I WAS POSTING! -.-

Eh, what the hell is Windows XP corporate? I don't have that / can't buy it, and my dad works for M$...

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

IIRC, using Mesa means software rendering (using the CPU instead of the graphics card for rendering images) and with games, that's slooooooow.

Mesa might be an independent 3d solution, but Vesa (or the Video Electronics Standards Association) that put together a standard by which all video cards should be able to play with a generic driver.  Mesa is a 3-D API that runs on top of your driver and is similar in nature to OpenGL.

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Temporarily.

I'm going to reinstall Windows, killing Linux. Sad, sad day. I'm going to do a 60GB/60GB split, though, so I can install Slackware when my package from Blaze gets here. =)

Reason: Guild Wars. Way to go Blaze. <3

9 days for his package to arrive?

No, I think joe quit. :)

No, Blaze is a very slow mailer.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.

Yeah, I almost mailed it friday.  Tomorrow is looking good :)

I never agreed to send that, and don't intend to.

Prove otherwise!

I was under the impression you agreed, but I have it now, so it doesn't matter either way.

PS: Contact gamesnake. We're having ops bot problems.
