Irradiated Buildings?
« on: September 26, 2005, 05:10:31 pm »
I noticed something odd while playing Starcraft missions this week.  I was able to get some bulidings irradiated.  Has anybody seen this before?

You can view it on OSPAP (woo!) here:

Plus, I'll be a jerk and link them inline for convenience:

2 questions: what version are you playing, and how did you do that?

I recall a previous bug that was patched, it went somthing like: irradiate a drone right before it spawns a building and that building gets infected.

I'm interested in this please elaborate on how you got to this point.

That's on version 1.13e, fully up to date.

You're exactly right, irradiate right as it's being built.  The goddamn computer kept irradiating my drones, which was really a pain, but a couple times (3, actualy) it managed to stay irradiated.

Lag isn't caused by what server you're on, games are totally peer-to-peer.  All that matters is who you're playing with.

And no thanks @ gaming, I don't play online anymore.

Then why do I have 2k on East, 3 yellow on West, and 4 yellow-6 red on Europe/Asia? I'm not playing, the download for patch turned me off and I gotta go soon.

Because the chat servers aren't where you play games.  Whether or not you have high ping on the chat servers doesn't matter when you're playing a game.

That ping is how long it takes for a packet to go to you and back to the server, that doesn't effect gameplay unless your playing D2 on closed.
And like a fool I believed myself, and thought I was somebody else...

Because that's your ping with the B.Net server. Once in a game, it switched over to peer to peer. (Or is it server-client as well ;O?)

I see. Interesting.

Then elaborate on the fact you're still transferring files over to an Asian in Asia, and the game is noticibly more laggier for me, a dial-up user, on Asia then East? Blizzard recommends connecting to your closest server I think and I just always thought that was why, because of areas-of-download (like it takes longer to get from Korea to Holland then Europe to Holland).
