NTFS's write support is very weak right now. But apparently it doesn't matter!
If you're using a Radeon card, you might have luck if you install the FGLRX package. That stands for FireGL something, and is ATI's drivers.
You can download it from
www.linuxpackages.net. The only package they have is for Slackware 10.1, but it should work on any version.
It supports the following cards:
- ATI FireGL V3100 / V3200 / V5000 / V5100 / V7100
- ATI FireGL X1 / X2 / X3 / Z1 / T2
- ATI FireGL 8700 / 8800
- ATI Mobility FireGL T2 / 9100 / V5000
- ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 / 9200 / 9600 /9800
- ATI Mobility Radeon X700
- ATI Radeon 8500 / 9000 / 9100 / 9200
- ATI Radeon 9500 / 9550 / 9600 / 9700 / 9800
- ATI Radeon X300 / X600 / X700 / X800 / X850
- ATI IGP Radeon 9100 / 9200/n - ATI IGP Mobility Radeon 9000 / 9100/n
To install it:
$ wget
http://ftp.scarlet.be/pub/linuxpackages/Slackware-10.1/Library/ati-fglrx/ati-fglrx-8.16.20-i386-1tsu.tgz# installpkg ati-fglrx-8.16.20-i386-1tsu.tgz
That should download and install it. After installation, it automatically goes through the configuration (which you can access again by running fglrxconfig).
Hopefully your card is on the supported list there, because if not I just wasted a bunch of time
And........ it's not. Damnit. Well, try that anyway, it can't hurt
