Recently, my tech aide hour has consisted of upgrading Panda Antivirus on each individual machine.  Yesterday, I recieved this e-mail from our technology coordinator (who I generally refer to as "my boss"):

Quote
I need all of you to go back to any of the machines you have upgraded Panda
on, and all in the future and run Ringo Defibrillator. This is an awesome
little utility that runs a series of complex algorithms through a processor,
basically causing a wave of electrical current. This "defibrillation" will
completely clear out all system registries, the level 1 AND 2 cache of the
processor, not to mention the transistor core. By doing this, we eliminate
any of the new strain of processor resident "glugs" A glug is a granularly
lingering unstable glitch that can be caused either by a flaw in the
millions of transistors or by a malevolent program. So, we need to run the
Ringo Defibrillator on all our processors, especially the ones with the
Panda upgrade.

Ringo is an experimental program released by a Microsoft Sub-Contractor and
I'm only supposed to have one copy, so you'll need to search the Internet
for hacked versions we can download. Thanks.

This was obviously a joke.  He was just pulling our legs--being funny.  Here was my immediate response:

Quote
Hahahahahha :P

Well, obviously he overestimated some of the other tech aides' knowledge because when I sat down at the workstation in our MDF, I found this window open:

In actuality, half of these searches were from one of the aides that is a foreign exchange student from China, so some of the vocabulary in the message was probably incoherent to him, but the other half was from two other aides that weren't sure if he was kidding or not.
