Ubuntu Shipit
« on: November 10, 2005, 07:18:49 pm »
http://shipit.ubuntu.com/

A 56k'ers best friend. Sign up and they'll ship you some (sexy looking) Ubuntu CD's in the mail.

IA32 Install + Live (Shipping corrupt CDs)
IA64 Install + Live
PPC Install + Live

It isn't a very speedy ship, but nonetheless, its totally free (no S&H), so eh?

EDIT -
Changed IA processors to IA32/IA64, and added IA64 live and PPC live.

I signed up a purple moon ago, and my order got sent to the shipping company on September 25th. Please allow 2-4 years for shipping. xD

I signed up for it like, a month and a half ago. I got it about a week ago, but thats ok - I assume they bulk up the orders until they can send a bunch all at once, cuts shipping charges.

This isn't new, you've always been able to have them send you disks - any number too, within limits, for free. I did it when I first heard about Ubuntu (definitely before Summer) and they actually came in handy once....when my hard drive died after a random power surge.

Although it isn't new, it's still useful information.  If I cared about Ubuntu, I'd... well, I'd still download it.  But it's the principle!

PPC* ?
One must ask oneself: "do I will trolling to become a universal law?" And then when one realizes "yes, I do will it to be such," one feels completely justified.

What do you mean by PPC*?

Don't rely on this for IA32 CDs. PPC Install worked, PPC Live and IA64 live and install are untested, but all of my IA32 Install and Live CDs (10 each, 20 total) were corrupt.
