Facebook killed the radio star. And by radio star, I mean the premise of distributed forums around the internet. And that got got by Instagram/SnapChat. And that got got by TikTok. Where the fuck is the internet we once knew?

Hey all,I've just put up a paper on a curious flaw that appears when running adatabase server on Windows XP with Simple File Sharing enabled. The flawessentially allows a remote attacker to gain access to the database, sometimes with DBA privileges, without knowledge of a valid password. To behonest, no-one is really to blame; it's just one of those cases where youtake two disparate mechanisms, shake them up, add a dash of lime and serveup. The paper can be found herehttp://www.databasesecurity.com/dbsec-papers.htm and is entitled "DatabaseServers on Windows XP and the Unintended Consequences of Simple FileSharing". It doubles-up as my entry for the "Longest Title" award.Cheers,David Litchfieldhttp://www.databasesecurity.com/http://www.ngssoftware.com/
I'd personally do as Joe suggests
You might be right about that, Joe.
