Friend's cat...
« on: November 19, 2005, 03:23:21 pm »
My friend's cat Tyler had a cancerous tumour on his back.  They removed it, and he seemed to be in perfect health.

Today they got the results from the cat scan (haha, I'm kidding, it's a biopsy) back, and it turns out he has "agressive lymphatic cancer".  I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure that means he's not going to live much longer.  Pretty sad :(

Haha, well, usually when somebody is talking about something pretty sad, or difficult, even a little joke is worth a lot.

But you're an insensitive asshole, normally, so that can't be it... :-P

I replied before I finished reading the post, apparently, so that sucks for the cat. I like cats, they're smarter than most people are these days.

It's in absolutely no pain, and it's not suffering at all, for the moment.  It looks and acts like it's in perfect health.  His coat is think and shiny, he's alert and energetic and his eyes are clear and focused, and he's eating the same as usual.  So obviously it's not bad yet, that's why we were thinking that he was going to be OK.

She's not planning on giving it Chemo-therapy, because that would just make it suffer.  She's planning on letting it live as long as it can live comfortably and happily, then she'll take it to the vet to have it put down.  Yeah, that costs money, but it's probably better than scraping your baby's brains off your driveway.

My friend, has like 6 cats and 2 dogs, he has trained the dogs to play "get the kitty":

He grabs a cat, holds it up about chest high, and says "GET THE KITTY!" and the dogs start barking....and he drops it and they chase it...it's so fucking funny, maybe I will get him to tape it lol..

It's sad though I suppose, although I do hate cats ( allergies :/ ) , but I would be sad if my dog died :(

That's a horrible game.

My friend has 2 cats and a dog.  The cat often uses the dog as a pillow, and they all get around perfectly well.

My cat got in a fight with something the other day and lost. He came home during the night with a gash on his tail and bled all over the backyard. However, he wasn't around in the morning but reappeared and seemed ok(aside from his tail which was clearly bothering him) that afternoon.

Nope, but I don't believe in unnecessary cruelty, either.

It's not cruel, it's not like he's throwing the cat into a pack of wolves.
