The DecemberWeekFools Plan!

Nice names. Let's leave it like this. It's a fresh change. :)

I was posting, and saw "last post: N00bie" in a security thread, and was like "wtf, a loser."

I'd bet that you're currently bloated like a water ballon on a hot summer's day.

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

Hmm...

Who wants to turn this into a December Fools joke? :P

Whatever we do, we cannot threaten the security of the boards. Just make this some good ol' fun.

Let's relate this to PHC.... :)

Oh, yeah, and in a few days, anybody want to set http://impaler.x86labs.org/~jklinect/favico.ico to favicon for x86labs.org? Just for fun? :)

I posted a modified excerpt of my school's server (involving failed FTP authentication) in the thread.

Maybe I'll post more "evidence" later, unless somebody wants to fake some log entries now. :)

To anyone's knowledge, only Quik has access to darkside.

Perhaps he can play along?

And we can announce, on Christmas day, that this was all a sick, sick joke, and we wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Our present to you: the forums weren't hacked! :p

I don't think we should wait till Christmas.  A couple days, sure, anything else would be pushing it.

Btw, I feel a strange sense of guilt.  Also, I posted some more logs from school servers involving pam (which, if anybody looks it up, involves user authentication).

Ok, so here are some ideas:

- Make minor changes. Hide some forums, change forum names, maybe even change avatars or forum skins?
- Make an account related to project mayhem or something blackhat, and make it post so people realize whoever did it sucks. We can use proxies.
- Change the forum skin to something associated to PHC. This can be done later, in a week or two, when we bring out the account on proxies to say "lol, you think it was an inside joke. rofl."
- CHANGE THE FUCKING FAVICON. Nobody ever checks that shit. Do that ASAP. See if people notice. :)

I'm going a different route.

Today, I've confirmed that I've fixed some avenues, and that he never had root.

Tomorrow I'll run chkrootkit and post what he infected me with.

Day after tomorrow, well, we'll see.

<edit> Note: Don't change anything else today, please!

If you want to say you deleted the account, pick a proxy off of http://www.samair.ru/proxy and say "and if anybody wants it, here is the ip/proxy phc used: <proxy here>", and then re-register the account in a few days, right after your admin suddenly disappears. :P

iago's name should change.

I don't believe I have access to Darkside, but I will play along with anything you post or do as long as it is not obscene and in good taste.

Eh, don't start with the obscene crap + feelings again. We have a bigger mission at hand. Entertain people.

Plus, I don't plan on doing something totally obscene / vulgar / offensive to people. I even suggested that we don't scare users away via security issues such as "omg he has ur passwords" or "hes logging ur ip and is gonna hax u" so let's just make this fun. :)

We'll start up again tomorrow.

Btw, I mentioned that I hacked my admin account back, but didn't have time to change other names.  That's why I'm iago.  And that's why the theme is what it is.  It was there just long enough for people to notice, but not to get used to, which I think has even more effect :)

Shuttup.  He's the only non-member who's in on it (I had to shut him up before he ruined it), and he agreed to play along.

We'll reveal it as a joke tonight or tomorrow, depending on the reaction to Hitmen.

Nice, I had no idea what was going on. Like, I read one thread about peoples names being changed but didn't think anything of it.

You got me too I guess, and I didn't even realize that you were "hacked" until I saw "Pwned fags" today. Woo!

Whoever dropped docs on Towelie probably scared him shitless. Either that or made him think it's one of us. :p
Well it was more surprising than scaring me shitless, but eh
Haha, it worked out well, and was a really cool effect :)

Wait what happened? Link!

Towelie PMed phc saying, "So, how often do you take it anally?"

I responded telling him his full name, phone number, and his mom's name.

For the record, this all started because iago said something about "MindFire" in a post on the leaders forum and I thought "Oh yeah?  I'll call you 'Yago.'  In fact, I'll change your name."  It all snowballed from there.
I have a programming folder, and I have nothing of value there

Running with Code has a new home!

Our species really annoys me.
