The only thing I'm waiting for is Gaim-Encryption.  But as for being a beta, I have yet to have a problem with it.  Although my mouth was a little dry.. but in any case, I enjoy using beta software.  It's part of supporting OpenSource, finding bugs for them and stuff

Tried it and switched back to 1.5, I really don't like the gui changes and have no desire to edit them out myself.

Yea, I heard previously about how the stripped out settings and made them a single unchangable (without editing source/ make plugin or w/e) setting.

I rather like how they combine the chat for buddies that are grouped into 1, though.  Like Towelie is frequently annoying and messages me on different accounts, and it puts them all into a single window, single history.  That's handy. 

There's only one annoying gui change, that big away thing.  And you can easily shrink it to 0, which is good. 

If there's stuff about it you don't like, you should submit it, though.  Part of the point of this is for them to get a feel about what the users like.
