Why do you want to see a movie about people being tortured? Does it get you off?

Quik, what kind of movies do you watch?  You always seem to be negative toward everyone and everything, is there something wrong with you, or are you just on some kind of power struggle constantly?

You always seem to be negative toward everyone and everything

He was abused as a Jewish child. You'll have to excuse his negativity.

I want to see this movie too. Quentin Tarantino seems to be a good director, seeing as how I liked Reservoir Dogs and this movie looks interesting. :)

That analogy doesn't even make sense.  Why would a water balloon be especially bloated on a hot summer's day? For your sake, I hope there wasn't too much logic testing on your LSAT.

The kill bill movies sucked, but I love the tarantino classics (reservioir dogs, pulp fiction, hell, I'll even take jackie brown and from dusk till dawn over that crap).

But anyways, this movie looks awesome. Taking the woman (who surprisingly wants to see it as well) to see it on friday.

And incase quik is wondering, yes, watching people get tortured gets me off. Movies without unnessecary gore are boring. This is my favorite movie.

I'm sorry if disagreeing with your disagreeable qualities constitute a "power struggle" (please define?), I just don't understand why in fuck's sake you would want to see a movie like this. Now, hitmen's example is something laughable.. this is meant to seem real, and the commercials advertise it as if you were sitting in the same room watching someone get tortured and murdered. Why is that an experiance you would pay to see? It doesn't constitute great filmmaking, sounds more like the plot from A Clockwork Orange without the nice music.

I guess for the same reason people watch any sort of horror film.  I don't really think he wants to see it beacuse it's humans being tortured; he probably just wants to see the movie to fully undertand what it's about.

That's how I'd defend myself, anyway.  I'm not a big fan of any sort of horror film in the first place, so I don't personally want to watch it.

This is not a horror film in the traditional way, however. Originally the genre (zombie movies) were intended to cast light upon the fictional character of the 'undead' and how it has been cast aside in society. Other horror films were intended to scare you, but not necessarily in a too-real way. Gore movies, like hitmen suggested, are usually intended to be funny, such as iago's Killer Condom movie. This is a depiction of a very-realistic type of violence and dementia, much less scary than it is offendingly grotesque.

I sort of agree, but I wouldn't go as far as to accuse people of being 'sick' for wanting to see it.  Saw was similar to this, it seems.  I rather liked that movie, but it was pretty gross.

Realistic depictions of people being tortured, in my opinion, happen to be quite funny. I think there should be more movies like this. Other topics that need to occur more often in movies are: rape, cannibalism, ritual sacrifices, the killing of a nun at a convent by raping her with a pointy stick until she dies.

I am a sick bastard and am not afraid to admit it.

I don't see how anyone could be considered "sick" for watching a movie.  Someone who watches pornography too much could be considered "sick".  I don't see this as something that I would take to heart and then go out and start slaughtering people, movies are meant to be entertainment, I want to watch this because I believe it will keep me entertained.  Your opinion of "sick" is you're opinion, don't come around here demeaning people because they want to see a movie that you do not, or disagree with the storyline.

I think most people's definition of "sick" constitutes being entertained by viewing realistic scenes of torture. I know for a fact that these movies aim at nothing story-line wise, so you have no basis that "you like the story". If you're that easy to please, read Harvey Boys.

No, people's definition of "sick" (from what I've seen) mostly relates to weird sexual things like buttsex and the like.

I personally feel that, since I am an administrator on this forum, I have the priviledge of posting where I choose, when I choose. You are a guest here, as a non-member, and have no right to restrict my actions.

Personally, I'm offended. I don't agree with many things on these forums, only a few piss me off enough to publically defend my position and start a discussion about the subjects. This is one of them, and I doubt you have been involved with the other discussions to understand my point of view. In short: No, I will not "restrict myself from posting" anywhere, you can deal with my posts just like I have to deal with yours.

I saw it, its really not as bad as every admitted to. Most of the gore scenes were faded away as it happened, and the first half of the movie is nothing but tits and ass.
