Well, you chose to do pure combat, there's bound to be disadvantages

Also, intimidation is done with Charisma.  Charisma isn't only how good you look, it's about how you carry yourself to influence others.

Well, charisma would be how well you say that phrase and how believable you make it.  I don't see why you couldn't do a "weapons display" to intimidate them.
