lewwwwwwwwwwt
« on: January 19, 2006, 12:09:23 am »
After a few months of being 60, it's about damned time.  This was my first day raiding with this group and I got something!  Horray!  It's a very exeperienced group, so most of the other Priests are already decked out in full or near full Prophecy.

Nice, I did scholo a couple of times yesterday and.... 5 Magister's Gloves dropped.  Count them, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.  I swear they bumped the drop rate in 1.9. :P

Bracers of Transcendence dropped in BWL today too, but I didn't win the DKP bid. :(

Got one of these today too.  Nothing else, though.

We one shotted Majordomo, Ragnaros and Razorgore, but didn't have any luck on Vael (Boss in BWL after Razorgore).  We tried about 12 times and got him down to about 1.5%, but we didn't manage to down him this time.  Next week!

Those are nice.  I still get more mana from those than I do Devout Robe (which is strange, since Devout Robe has more intellect, I believe).  I don't use them, though.  They look very, very slutty. ^_^

I really love this raid.  Got both of these today:

I don't intend on wearing the Circlet until the set bonuses from Prophecy are significant enough to consider.  Even though I'm like hugely in debt with DKP, I'm next in line for Robes, Bracers and Belt of Prophecy and Benediction.  It's pretty sweet.

Here's a screenshot:

It's actually pretty funny that all of this stuff is happening all at once.  I've known Emionne (the class leader/co-raid leader) for a really long time and she's always talked about having me in her raid, but there was never room.  I've been in a few raids, but I don't know -- I really hate it when they move slow.  I fucking love this raid.  Today we downed Lucifron, Magmadar, Shazzrah, Garr and Barron Geddon in about 3 hours, it was really awesome.  Tomorrow we get the guy before Ragnaros (the guy who drops Robes of Prophecy -- I always forget his name :P) and Ragnaros.  Then we go to BWL and try for Vael again.  Last time we one shotted razzorgore and got Vael to about 2%.  I think we might do Onyxia tomorrow too.  She only takes about 30 minutes.

We're doing really good...

It takes our guild 15 minutes to kill Ony, then 15 minutes to do the loot sorting. :)

The person who manages our raids is Baylord, the creator of Group Calander, what we use for scheduling and now a very popular addon :)

Haha, the creation of AddOns isn't anything that impresses me!  An application that emulates the authentication and chat protocol is something that impresses me (;))!

30 minutes is considering the loot sort, I think.  I don't know, I haven't been there presonally before (my guildie ran me through last week when I got Halo of Transcendence).  I'm pretty sure this is the most successful alliance raid on our server.  One of them, anyway.

But regaurdless, I think if they're going to make one set peice look good they should atleast make the rest semi-neat looking, that's just...yich.

Wee!  It doesn't even matter that much.  The only guy I'm competing with is right down here with me... until I get Bene. ;D

It's a point system used to fairly distribute the loot in endgame raids.

Hehe.  Transcendence is better!  We're doing pretty well in BWL too!  We got Firemaw to 70% last night (it was our first night fighting him).  We downed Broodlord Lashslayer last night too.  That was our second attempt on him.

It's a 50% drop off of a boss in MC.  It's really not that difficult to obtain in a raid that can farm MC with no problems.  There are a few other things that you have to do, but I didn't do them.  Someone in my raid did them for me (played my character while I was away fishing).  Have I mentioned how awesome my raid is? :)

I have Robes of Volitale power, but Devout Robes have more intellect.  Mesa like Intellect.

Robes of Prophecy are on the shard list, but damned Golemagg didn't drop them again. ._.

Hehe.  I'm now known as the "epic bandit" in my raid. :)

This was in BWL, so it came from BWL DKP.  I'm only -15 there, hehe.

Priests have that too:

I regen about 40 mana/tick while in casting (112 or so not casting).

Thanks. :)

Hehe.  I personally don't think it's worth it to a mage.  For a Priest, though, it's almost a "must."

Very nice, full epics yet?  :)

Note quite.  I have two rings, a trinket and a wand that are blue.

I'm pretty sure I can replace the wand soon.  There's one in BWL that's prioritized to Priests and I don't think anyone else in MC wants Crimson Shocker.  I don't think I'll replace the trinket, because it's a pretty good one.  I might try to collect another Darkmoon set, but I'm not entirely sure.

The rings, however, can be replaced.  I really want that one that drops off of Ragnaros.  It's like +22 Intellect or something like that. :(

8-manned.  The video is on WoWmovies.

The only reason we do Onyxia is for head (baha).  I think there are maybe one or two people in this raid that don't have their helms.  Most people just go for the DKP.

Did you pay double DKP for that? I heard somewhere that SFC makes always drop items double the DKP, which is REALLY eww. It's supposed to be half. Join DoG! We clear through MC incredibly fast now, Onyxia is cake, we've got ZG down really easily, We've downed 4 of the bosses in AQ 20, and we've been in BWL for 2 weeks and we already have Vael down to 3%! And our leader isn't on crack!

My raid is better than yours; and I'm on a RP server! ^_^  (epeen.  I'm just kidding :P).

We do MC through Ragnaros in less than 3 hours now.  ZG is cake (it is anyway), we've downed the first couple of bosses in RAQ and AQ 40 (we've only tried a few times) and we're through Neffy in BWL (We one shot all the bosses before him) and we recently 10 manned Onyxia.

Rings, trinkets and necklaces are usually relatively high in DKP cost.  It's worth it, though.  More people need it.  Supply and demand. :P.  With set pieces, a much smaller population of your raid is in need of that item, so it should be less in price.

Eh, more people need it in your guild, but it still drops every time. Supply and demand is supply and demand. There is a larger supply, but I guess it your guilds there's a larger demand as well... I still have no idea how it could be double DKP.

We progress incredibly fast. Like we just started Vael saturday, and we downed him today. We would've downed the Broodlord on our second try today, but when we got him down to 30% with all of our people up, half of our people disconnected. We also took Onyxia down on our first shot, and cleared all the way through MC in a month or 2.

Although that was a pain in the ass to read, we only down onxyia four times a week, and when almost everybody wants it.. it gets to be a pain in the ass.  :)

We now have two molten core groups, the first one clearing to rag, the second getting to garr with one wipe due to accidental pull of magmadar (They still would have won but the warriors aren't very good at dancing and the dwarf priest was the first dead).

If that was a requirement, I would be strongly inclined to not join that raid.  That's way too much raiding.  Three days a week (MC + BWL + AQ40) is more than I need right now anyway.

If anything, more than one group with non-equal competancy would veer me away.  I'd be afraid of getting stuck in the lesser raid, as greedy as that sounds.

We've downed every boss other than Vaelstraz (got him on our second) and Nefarius our first try.  We've wiped a few times after the initial kill, but it's generally due to server error.  Broodlord is arguably the easiest boss in BWL; I'm serious.  He's a piece of cake.  If your healers and tanks are on the ball (which should be the case in any battle), there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Nice doube post, by the way. ;D

Hell no, my guild has been refered to as a community guild.  500 toons, going strong with no raid attendance requirements.  The main group, or Alpha was designed to progress as smoothly and as quickly as possible through MC so we can get some damn work done on Razergore, which nobody wants to do.  But as soon as we down him everyones going to want to go, which is like what Molten Core used to be.  :-\

I'm in the Alpha group, btw.  :)

Do you guys buy tons of healing/mana pots, or is it pure skill? If it is pure skill, I congradulate you strongly. I wish I could find a guild where EVERYONE puts as much effort as I do every second. As for the Broodlord, I know he's easy. We wiped the first time because all our rogues decided to be mad DPS rogues and got killed from the AE, so we couldn't put the suppression totum down. That was our only mistake, as the second time we had server issues.

I don't personally know of any member who goes out of their way with buying potions at all.  I know some of them make them, but none of the people I associate with regularly use them.  We've made amazing progress in BWL, considering we only started about two months ago.

I tend to agree, but there are fights where potions are almost necessary.  Have you done Chromaggus yet?  He lasts about 15 minutes ...

We were so close to killing Nefarian today... we've been very unlucky with our color combinations two weeks in a row.  We had Black and Blue last week, Red and Black this week.  We should have him by next Friday.

In any case, I did get some MC loot tonight.  It's about fucking time too.  It's been 2 months since Golemagg has dropped these things.

I practically have full Prophecy.  I'm only missing the bracers (I have the other pieces not listed in the screenshot in my inventory, including the circlet), but I do not want them, even for the crappy 8 piece set bonus.  We have a few pairs in our raid bank, but I refuse to spend any DKP on them.  Bindings of Transcendence are much better than Prophecy.  Plus, the set bonus for 3 piece Transcendence is extremely good.

You can see my unbuffed mana in that screenshot at 8202.  That is with Prophecy Boots, which I don't normally wear (I generally use Boots of Pure Thought, which I've posted here before).  It's at 8103 with those.

I would have gotten Transcendence Leggings too, but the raid leader fucked up and looked at the BWL DKP list instead of the MC one.  Oh well; the Priest that got them only had 2 pieces of Transcendence, so it's okay.  He needed his 3 piece bonus.

Here's a new character screenshot:

Edit:  For the sake of fashion, here's Sabetha wearing all of the Prophecy she has:

I'd post a character screenshot, but there are no visible changes.  If anyone's truely interested, I'll post one with my robes off. :P

I'm in first place for DKP in BWL.  I'm going to save for the robes, I think.  I told Emionne that I'd pass on the Pauldrons for her.

Yeah the set bonuses suck for Prophecy too.  They're extremely awesome for Trascendence, though.  I have the two ones that are good.  The last one kind of sucks, in my opinion.

It could easily make the difference between a wiped raid and an alive raid.  20% of the full sets hp is probably more then mine right now full.  :(

I also didn't claim that that one was the best, I just wanted to ppint it out, since it looked neat to me.

those are all nice, but they're simply not as viable raid-savers as 5-piece transcendence.  You can manage your damage and not pull aggro.  The last one is nice, but I still dont think its as good as 5-piece transcendence purely for PvE (Since that's what we're discussing)

FUCK YES! After so long of waiting for this bitch to drop my dagger, and week after week it either not being given to me, or it not dropping, I've finally obtained the Fang of the Faceless, possibly the best dagger other then Perdition's Blade before AQ. (Not counting GM daggers) I nearly passed out when the roll was won, I had to leave the computer for a minute I was so amazingly happy. (This is pathetic, I know, but I've waited a LONG time for this.) Glad it finally dropped. ;D

Oh, I don't think imageshack likes hotlinking.  Feel free to use my uploader: http://sidoh.dark-wire.net/upload

--

I went DKP crazy last night...

I have... 1 DKP left.  I can go negative, but I'm in second to last place among the priests, haha.  I'm hoping that they'll be kind and pass on the boots since that's all I need to complete my set.

As far as I know, this is the highest DPS weapon in the game outside of Naxxrammas.  Of course it's wand dps, so no sorts of attack powers are factored into its damage, but its still does really, really nice in pvp/duels.  It looks neat too.  If I remember later, I'll screenshot its model. :)

Our raid leader recommended Priests get this for Naxxrammas.  Apparently there's some part in there were we have to use Mind Control and missing with Mind Control on elites sucks. :(

After months of bidding, I finally won with my -80 MC DKP. >_>

I just want something with a faster attack speed for PvP, because I lag so bad that the bow I have right now gets a shot off maybe once every four seconds.. It's a bit annoying. I am pretty happy with it, though. And, I want it just because it's so friggin' expensive and getting it would have a "glitter factor". Glitter factor being having something flashy, like whelp pets, that cost a huge amount on the auction house.
I'm proud to say that both my whelps I farmed myself, one dropping in less than a half hour, and the other in less than a minute (6 kills on the black ones).

Maybe I'm just lazy, I've had two rogues to 60, and they were both enjoyable to play all the way there, I get on this mage and it just...doesn't have the same feeling to it. Maybe I just don't want to level again? Don't know.

Mages are easy to level. In my opinion, all DPS classes are, because they just lay on damage and don't take forever to kill things. As well, mages have AoE spells, which are great for grinding. (I personally never used them, it wasn't my style.) It's possible you're playing them wrong, or maybe there's some aspect about them that you really don't like. Mana, clothy, etc. While a mage isn't my main anymore, I have to admit, I miss teleport so goddamn much.

Rogues are easier to level than Mages IMO.

They are a bit easier, but both are a hell of a lot easier to than, say, a warrior. Then again, my mage leveled really fast for  me because I liked it so much. My rogue leveled a bit faster because I *had* to, but when I had no enthusiasm for it, it went really slow. Sometimes, it really depends on how much you like the class.

Though, also, I can't talk *too* much from experience because my mage/rogue aren't endgame, they're only 30/40.

Rogues have significant advantages over other classes with stealth.  I can't tell you how easy it makes questing.

Mages kill really fast, but not usually as fast as a Rogue.  Plus, when they're done killing really fast, they have to take a break to drink.

And also, this is my 9000th post.  You should feel lucky! :D  (hehe jk)

Haha. -_-

And, stealth makes things annoyingly easy. Have to kill the named at the end of the cave? Just stealth there, pop up, kill him, vanish, leave. Mage? Kill everything in the cave, and have sheep break every time you try and kill the named, so you get pounded into the dirt and mutilated like the clothy you are.

Though, mages are still my favorite class, simply because they do have other advantages that make life a lot easier (evocation, teleport/portal, water/food making, blink), but unfortunately, other classes take advantage of mages...

I do like hunter, though. You kill almost as fast as a rogue, are never really alone, and, hey, I can stealth! -_-

I could AoE grind 40k+ xp/hour when I was leveling my mage.  If I didn't take so long farming gold I would have finished in 3-4 weeks in casual game play.

With the ability to AoE grind, AND make your own food/water, it's a cakewalk.

I could solo grind that much exp in an hour.  :P

Anyways, back on topic. Bindings of the Windseeker (right side) finally dropped last night, went to MT. First ever for the guild.

I don't believe you.

You should.  You get 500-600 XP (UNRESTED) for killing the elite mobs in Hearthglen (which is easily do-able by a Rogue at level 57 or so).  You get similar numbers for killing other elites around Azeroth. :P

I could kill those elites in about 20 seconds, giving 10 seconds for rest/finding another one to kill.  So, I could get 40,000 XP UNRESTED in about 40 minutes at that rate. :p

    40 000 / (500 / 30) = 2 400/60 = 40

Well, I went against that. I changed my mind to "if I am sitting on my ass at home with nothing to do and no one to do something with, I might as well hang out with guildies and raid :P"

This last week has been good to me.  Hit Mag's lair and picked up my shield, Kara got me my shoulders, chest, T4 helm and the badges got me my cloak.  Working on getting some gems up in there and picking up the S1 mace since the damn mace won't drop off Maiden.

Loot isn't being kind to me but I picked up my first new piece in a bit: Mantle of the Elven Kings. Hurray for trash drop epics. Now if only my Nethervoid Cloak would drop off hyjal trash, we had 4 Pepe's Shroud of Pacification drop in one night.....

Wispcloak and the two mail caster pieces.  I was probably flasked though, as I always am.  4hr flasks ftw.  Oh, and I always fully enchant my gear, so that too.

Nice, I didn't know about Wispcloak. I'll have that made. Yea, I'm using both of the mail caster items, also. My mana pool is lower than most holy paladins I've seen though, for some reason. There was a pally healing H UK for me today (I'm ret right now) and he was in greens still, although he did have 2 items from Naxx... the shoulders and I think legs, so those are big items, but he had a green shield, green trinkets and rings also. He has 3k more mana than me. =(

I have nothing gemmed or enchanted, yet, though. I need to go quest and make some gold! =\
