I've met equally weird people on every type of server--on every game I've played, for that matter.  Subclassing people by the genre of the server they play on is stupid.  While we do have some weird RP freaks, literally ~95%+ of the people I play with are normal.  For Christ's sake, my raid leader hops around in MC yelling:

  " OMG GOGMOGM OMGOMG KITTIES MEWMEWMEWMEWM EMWMEEMW MEWM EW MEW MEWM EW MEW MEW MWE"

When she's not doing that, she's doing the CHUUUU thing:

  " OMG HI2U SABACHU HOWRU? "

Once you establish a group of friends that you can hang out with, you eliminate all worry of running into freaks that are going to scare you in a "do you want to cyb0r" kind of way.

Those people are NOT RP'ers.  They're idiots, simply put.  Real RP'ers say things like:

  "CLENSE THIS PLACE OF EVIL, FOUL BEING!  I SHALL RELINQUISH YOUR FOUL SOUL!  FOR STORMWIND!"

That, obviously, would be something a RP Paladin would say.

Quite frankly, RP'ing is a lot of fun.  I just think it's stupid to do on WoW since it's such an informal community to begin with.

Generally, they don't.  It's a good thing, trust me.  When they do happen, events such as what has become to be known as the "tram event" happen.  Yeah, that happened on my server.  I've grouped with the guy that did it.  -_-

If you were getting gank while you where trying quest your char. would probally be much lower then mine. Plus the fact my mom is a crack whore helps my sitution.

I didn't do quests.  I ground instances from level 20+.  Besides, I started my Priest almost a year ago.  I can gaurentee If I played the same amount of time, I'd be 60 on any server, using any sort of method that regularly gave XP.  I've played high levels (50-60's) on PvP servers for extended periods of time (1 day+).  It's not nearly as bad as you make it seem, as long as you stay in faction-neutral areas.

Who the hell said that? I dont recall over mocking you for playing an RP server I just feel that RP's now a days dont do anything. I rember playing an RP server when I got wow and people were cybering. WTF? I never said your less/more competent if anything you have the best char on these forums.
