Great. Now Windows users that have no knowledge about computers at all are gonna be scared to death of clicking ANYTHING for no reason. At least tell us the extent of the danger of the security holes...

What? It's sorta common sense not to visit untrusted sites. Additionally:

If they don't like it use IE7, it's better anyway.

While it's pretty easy to do while idley browsing the web, I agree.  Visiting untrusted websites should be common sense: don't do it.  If it isn't, they'll learn it from someone they've become aquainted with.

If you ask an average person if they visit any untrusted sites, they'll say, "uhh, what?"  Because people don't know what that means.  If you tell them, "Well, just install the beta version of Internet Explorer 7", they'll say, "uhh, what?". 

What you're suggesting are hardly solutions.  Computer savvy people aren't going to go there and might install newer versions, but my grandpa has no idea what any of that means.

point taken and this is what makes these situations so sticky, while I think they should disclose information as a well the average user isn't going to do anything with it either. I just hope it gets patched soon.
