FMA Season starting over.

Yes I suggest that everyone here take a look at this series. This is the reason people fall in love with Japenese anime. Iam sorry this is probally the best show that cartoonetwork ever aired. It comes on midnight every saturday night on your local cartoon network channel. [adult swim].

Basically it is about 2 brother trying to right their wrongs due to the fact they tried to bring their mom back from the dead. That is crossing over into Gods country and they both got punshed by one losing their entire body to a suit of armor and the other losing his arm and leg. You can read about it in the source site I gave you guys. I really incourage you guys check it out since they are starting the series all over agian from the beginning. Their are 51 epiosdes and they are going to show #2 this weekend. Best damn anime period. When I get some cash iam going to buy the box set.

I'm broke as it is!  I'll tell you what, you buy the set, burn a copy for yourself, and then send me the original.  How's that sound?  :)

OutlawStar+Samurai Champloo+Gundam Wing are all better in my opinion. It's not a bad show though.

Al is the philosopher's stone.  Also, "our" world is what's across the gate, and every time someone uses alchemy someone here dies.  Ed and Al's dad is over here (thus not over there).  Ed brings Al back as a kid (IE: before all this) and Al has no memory of what happened.

Oops..sorry.  ***spoilers***

But yes, Cartoon Network has shown a LOT of better anime (though FMA is still good).  And yes, next to Bleach and Naruto FMA isn't that great.  And next to uncut One Piece (it's actually good uncut!) even Naruto pales.

No offense, but I think Naruto is one of the worst shows to ever exist. Ever.

Bleach is a pretty one though.

Samurai Deeper Kyo FTW.  Oh, and I enjoyed Trigun for some reason, too.

However, I honestly can't find any interest in Naruto.

I don't really see the big different between a fansub and a translated one...unless its censored.

I watch more then you will ever know. Habani Renami is also great. Along with flame of recca. I dont like watching FanSubs becuase I dont like to read. I rather watch "Americanized" anime (the proper term is dub, noob.) Then seeing some boobs or hearing some cursing. If you go to suncoast and buy any DvD there none of them are censored.

You call me a "noob", but you don't realize "Americanized" means more than "translated".  "Americanized" alsomeans that the show is cut and edited to meet FCC regulations, and many things are changed or removed altogether because they may not make sense to a Western viewer.

A "dub" is a show that has had voice actors re-record the voices in English (or whatever other language).

Thanks.

I still haven't seen all of the FMA because I simply don't have the time anymore, but I have seen a lot of them and those ones I really enjoyed.  My personal favorite animes are Blue Gender, HellSing, and Samurai X.  I only missed the end of the Blue Genders, so that was dissapointing, but I saw the majority and I really liked it.  I saw all of the Hellsing ones that I know of, and I have seen almost a huge majority of the Samurai X shows/movies and I like them a lot.

If you can't tell I am not a HUGE anime fan, and I just never have the time to finish the whole season. :D

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=Americanized

That is the offical word but, I know where not talking Dictionary terms or anything. "Americanized" dosent mean anything to the anime world. I understand what your saying with the FCC regulations and the cutting of senes all togther but, the proper term is "Dub". Dub could mean anything from voice overs to censoring to editing. Most anime I watch isnt really "dub" anyways to begin with. Most of the FMA season they showed on ]adultswim] was very little edited. FCC reguires that you remove most to all vulgar langue, nudity, and religous factors. In the season I belive he says bitch and basterd around 20 times and  at the very beginning of the show he is talking about creation with alchemy and crossing into "Gods country". The main thing they edited was at the end when Ed riped Dante's shirt and you saw her celvage not boobs. There is extensive amounts of blood in the series that probally wouldnt have gotten aired on regular day time television.

The main point I want to bring to you is that the term your using is incorrect and you should really correct yourself before making yourself look ignorant. "Not that you are"

Thanks.

I always loved Hellsing. Never really gathered too much in the Series. More along the lines of the manga. Samurai X was just rurouni kenshin for the television series.

Samurai X was the version not played in America.  Instead it was played in Japan and also some Movies are titled that as well.  But I would have to say that the animation in Samurai X vs. Rurouni Kenshin (Even though they were the same anime) was incredibly different.  Samurai X smashed Rurouni Kenshin in that aspect. :)

See #3.  FCC is definately "control".

Anyways, everyone in my area understands "Americanized" and "dubbed" the same way I do (around Philadelphia, FYI).

ANYWAY!  I have FMA and Tales of Eternia on my computer upstairs.  Once the Naruto filler is over I'm going to start watching that, as well.

I don't watch much anime.  However, I'm downloaded episodes 1-50 of FMA right now.  I've only seen a few episodes on TV. :P

Animes I like in no order:
Cowboy Bebop
Hellsing
Trigun
Samurai Champloo
Gundam (any series)
Bleach
Outlaw Star (probably my favorite)

I have all epps of FMA on my comp, all original jap viedo, with english dub.
I also have the movie rip, jap w/ eng dub sent to me by a friend in japan.

I liked the eintier series cept 'Night of the Chimeras Cry' it was jsut sick...
Anyways, This is *kinda* old, but anyone remember Detective Conan? Anyone know where I can get it? I really enjoyed it while it was aired on AdultSwim.

And yes GITS:SAC is a sweet show for anyone who is into computers ;)
Anyone have any of those epps on there comp, or know where to get em?
Perferably engdub, but I do understand jap. fluently.

I know about "Detective Conan", but you probably won't find anything by searching for that.  It's actual name is "Case Closed."

I haven't seen SAC, but I've seen both GITS movies, and they rock.

.hack//SIGN is stupid.  If you take out the music, all you have is boring.  I LIKE the idea (I own .hack//INFECTION, MUTATION, and OUTBREAK (almost QUARENTINE too!)), but SIGN is just annoying.

WiReS, you got jipped.  There are 52 episodes of FMA.

I am currently watching Last exile. This is my favorite series hands down. I mean the 3d and the 2d mixing is just friggen sweet. I also love the plot and the charaters as well. I suggest to everybody here that you guys go take a look at it. "Limewire baby =P"

Review:

Quote
Last Exile is steampunk, meaning that it's set in a quasi-Victorian future. If you read Neal "Jesus Christ" Stephenson, his book Diamond Age features a land very reminiscent of Last Exile's Prestale, except that his setting lacks the giant airships of doom. Prestale is a world of classy nobles in big hats and monocles filing formal complaints when an enemy commits an un-chivalrous action in battle--like using a big gun on a battleship rather than legions of troops armed with pea shooters. It's also filled with dirty peasants drinking dirty water from even dirtier cups. The main characters in the show, Claus and Lavie, are of the second, mud-drinking class. Claus is the pilot and Lavie the navigator of their van ship, which they use to deliver messages to various nobles. It's sort of like UPS sans the short-shorts.

One day, when racing their ship (something else they do with great acme), Clause and Lavie happen upon another van ship pilot who was shot down. He's carrying an 11-star package: a little girl named Alvis destined for the Sylvana, a badass airship fighting the Guild (who I'll get to later). 11 stars is pretty high priority, since your letter to Grandma for Christmas is about 3 stars, Kennedy's communications with Krushtev during the Cuban Missile Crisis would have been about 9, and 11 stars is saved for packages like the cure for a disease that needs to get around the world in 15 minutes or half the human race will die and the other half will become blind, sterile, and insane. Claus and Lavie meet Alex, the brooding bishounen and captain of the Sylvana. Alex is out to get the Guild for killing his wife many a year ago. While he does angst about that whole dead-wife thing a lot, he also carries a big, big, bigass gun sword with him, so he's not all bad. He convinces Claus and Lavie that their piloting skills are being wasted flying bills between nobles, and convinces them to fight the Guild.

This show also features Russian girls without noses.
Now, the Guild isn't some pansy Everquest guild; these guys are the high-tech ninja overlords of the world. While everyone else is off firing their single-shot rifles, the Guild has lasers and such. Controlled by the hedonistic Maestro Delphine, they rule according to her whim. If she doesn't like a tree in a palace, poof, the entire kingdom is destroyed in a deluge of flames. The Guild also controls the technology that makes airships possible. Basically, they have the world by the short hairs.
Claus and Lavie learn that Alvis has some sort of mystical connection to the Last Exile, which is hidden in the Grand Stream, the Bermuda Triangle of the sky. What the Last Exile is I'll leave for you to decide for yourself, but it's the key to not only defeating the Guild, but to making your whites whiter and your brights brighter.

What makes this show great is not just the plot--which, by the way, is excellent and leaves you begging for more at the end of each episode--it's the characters. Claus and Lavie may be orphans, but for once I don't hold that against them (stupid orphans). They go through huge amounts of development with little angst, which is far too often the handmaiden of development. In addition, the side characters are well-designed, which is the sign of a great show (just look at One Piece). Dio Elaclaire, the defector from the Guild, has his own nice little arc where he learns that Delphine is a jerk. Sophia Forrester of the Sylvana is the newest Lady Une, badass when in a uniform and nice when in a dress. Even the scary repair guy who's in the running for this year's "Sleep is for the Weak Worst Pedophile of the Year" award is beautifully designed.

Since this is a Gonzo show, there's a lot of CG (computer generated) animation. It's not bad, nothing as bad as Blue Submarine # 6, but sometimes it just feels out of place. I'm of the school that thinks that you shouldn't be able to tell when they switch from cell to digital animation, like in Cowboy Bebop, so big CG scenes just don't sit well with me. However, the CGs are well-done in themselves; you can tell Gonzo spent a lot of time to make them more than eye candy. The big battle and race episodes are almost entirely CG, and they aren't that bad unless you're a complete Luddite.

There are also a lot of new voice actors in this show--those for Alvis and Lavie are new to the voice acting game--as well as some Gonzo regulars. Asano Mayui, who plays Claus, also plays tough-but-lovable munitions officer Rheingau from Vandread, for example. No huge names nor amazing acting here, but the voices still suffice.

Oh well, I'll get them later I suppose.  This is probably an older torrent. :p

Anyways, This is *kinda* old, but anyone remember Detective Conan? Anyone know where I can get it? I really enjoyed it while it was aired on AdultSwim.
I forgot all about that show, I used to watch it all the time.  Though as rabbit said, the original name was Case Closed.

AnimeIndex has a few episodes under Detective Conan, so they're probably english.  I didn't see any under Case Closed. :/

Yeah, the English anime is called Detective Conan, for whatever reason, but it's impossible to find under that name.  Most of the time it'll show up as "Case Closed" or "Case Closed: Mysteries of Detective Conan" (I think) or something similar.

The movie is short enough to be considered an episode.

If I want a series dedicated to demonstrating right and wrong, I'd watch Court TV okay. Anime filled with idealistic nonsense is nothx.

If you take the time to really think about what your watching and not enjoy yourself then you have a problem. FMA if filled with action, comedy, and a under plot that nobody really gets at till the end of what one person can sacrifice. Who is idealize at all during the series?
