I'm not defending him on his point, but at least he has a reason. :P

So what?  People have lots of reasons for doing moronic things all the time.  For example, people wait until the very last second to get onto a freeway exit because they're on their cell phones.  That doesn't make them right, or their reasons valid.

For the third time, I'm not saying his reason is right or valid.

I know, it wasn't an attack at you.  It was just fun to quote you because you said it. :)  It was more of a shot at c0n and his idiocy.

Then why do you keep arguing about it?

I simply stated his reasoning behind it.  I never said I agreed with it.

I was arguing that c0n was intelligent.  I didn't say anything about supporting him on this.

Incidentally, a note to the person who original started this therad:  this is an intellectual community (besides Joe.. just kidding).  We have standards on how we want people to talk and behave.  In a way, that's arrogant, but that's the way we like it.  That's how we've built the community.  If people don't like it, they don't have to stay.  It's really up to the individual whether or not they want to be here.

And by the way, there are people who are grown up (20's and 30's) who are goths, in some way.  I have some friends (well, a friend, and her friends) who go to a nightclub around here (the Cage, maybe?) where everybody dresses as goths.  They don't do it every day, it's more for special occasions, but it still happens.

How can someone that's said something really stupid be considered intelligent? O_o

That's a funny question; it's almost paradoxical in nature.

Everyone has made a really stupid mistake.  Even Einstein -- he tried to implement a Cosmilogical Constant in his formulae for General Relativity, but later concluded it was a wrong turn and should be disregarded.  (Some Physics Theorists actually predict the Cosmological Constant is still plausible, but extremely minute in impact on the end outcome).

This aside, I think it's foolsh to call c0n an unintelligent, useless moron just because he doesn't use grammatical flow.  I stand by my original claim: I believe he's quite intelligent.

...and I stand by my original response: he's an asshole.

Intelligence is useless if nobody will listen to you.

Yeah, but Einstein was a newb.  C'mon now.  And if you'll notice, he found himself wrong.  That takes a hell of a lot more intelligence than being wrong and not knowing why.

I didn't call him an unintelligent, useless moron.  Hell, I'll agree that he's better with Linux than I am.  I just inferred that he's stupid in his beliefs.  The question is: what else is he good at?  Sure, he's good with computers.  Can he do anything else?  Intelligence, to me, isn't being good at only one thing; it's being more or less well-rounded.

About that, I'm dressing a black blazer, black tank top, black dress pants, and black dress socks to school tomorrow, but I'm not gothic. It's kinda weird.

EDIT -
@xex, yup. Keke.
I'd personally do as Joe suggests

You might be right about that, Joe.
