I see on almost every single Torrent search engine that Windows Media Player 11 is out, Good job on leaking it Microsoft!!!

There's a beta out. It *could* be that so you could bypass that authentication/verification crap.

Because it got leaked, everybody's using it.  Because everybody's using it, Microsoft's software becomes slightly more used.  I think that Microsoft benefits in the long run.

Possibly, but probably not.  I honestly don't think they mind much, though.  If they did, they'd give it a CD key or something.

Although the leak wasn't intentional, it is good advertising for them. It works for them either way and since WMP is free there is really no money loss. Win-Win.
